JJ wrote a discussion about a spam call and I was just remembering my own from the other day and ones in the past...And it brought me to ask this...Do spam callers ever hang up on YOU?? They hang up on ME every single time!! Wanna know why? I tell them about Jesus and His amazing love for them! Like the one from the other day went like this... From Google: We are calling to make sure you verified your local business recently. Okay, if you are from Google then you would know if I did or did not verify wouldn't you? Well we have to ask to make sure it went through with the right person.... Me...Well while you are on the phone let me tell you about the love God has for you! He loves you SO much that He sent His son to DIE for you and your sins. *Click* THEY hung up on ME... Do spam callers hang up on you? If so, why?

Yes, I've had spammers dumbfounded, actually groping for words to reply back! When they ask me a question, I answer back with a question

@LovingMyBabies Their first question at times, they ask if this is Kharla Jolly. They always pronounce my name wrong!

I do not usually answer from numbers that I do not recognize. My husband usually tells them just a minute and he puts the phone down, it doesn't take them long to hang up.

I never pick up calls. Only when someone announces themselves and I know them. Most calls are hang ups.

Nice strategies you have there to annoy those spam callers. I think that would be the easiest way when you talk about religion and all since scammers will just be taken off guard with that preaching of yours.

@LovingMyBabies but in the process you did since they are supposed to convince you to do something for them but it’s you who was trying to convince them.

@rsa101 I feel it is better than how some handle their calls--cursing, yelling, putting the phone down and walking away til they hang up anyway, etc...

@rsa101 It's not religion, it's a relationship I have with Jesus. =) I'm not trying to annoy them, I'm trying to share such good news with them.

Normally I don't even answer the phone unless I recognize the caller but I love your approach to the spam calls. Guess they don't want to hear about Jesus

@Marilynda1225 Unfortunately they don't want to hear the Good News but I love to share it with them anyway. =) Planting a seed, maybe one day it will be watered and I might see them in Heaven! =) If not, at least they know they are loved.

That's a good way to get them to hang up and stop calling. I simply hang up as soon as I know it's a telemarketer.

HAHAHA, I like that. I rarely answer the phone if I don't know the number calling. Once in a while if I am sitting at home bored and one calls and I am in the mood to mess with them I will answer. I will play interested but then ask them to hold just one second. I will set the phone down and either have a imaginary conversation with no one about going to the bathroom or argue about who killed the cat or about why I want to buy what ever this caller is selling which usually turns into a swear word filled fight of course all with them hearing the imaginary conversation. They usually hang up after a few minutes.

@Bensen32 Yeah, they don't like calling my number. Sad, they need to know they are loved! =) Others here have said they put the phone down and the spam call hangs up eventually too.

@LovingMyBabies I like to give them crazy stories to tell. I just make up weird stuff and talk. They eventually get the idea that I am not going to come back to the phone.

@SophiaMorros Telling people about Jesus couldn't be further from unproductive. He's the best news of all and eternity is so much more important than anything we sell here on Earth. =)

@SophiaMorros I never said they are rejecting the Gospel. I just said I tell them about God instead of what some do such as yelling, putting the phone down and walking away or doing something else when they call. =)

@LovingMyBabies Not necessarily unproductive, but also something that could possibly cost the telemarketer their job if they are caught taking time from work to listen. Just because they hang up on you doesn't mean that they are rejecting the gospel.
