One Cup Or Four?

As luck would have it (is it luck though? This is the norm for me) I am in a hotel room another night on business. I am staying at the same hotel in Green Bay, Wisconsin I always stay at. But there is something different. What is different you ask? Normally my room has a single cup coffee maker. Now, for me, one cup of coffee in the morning is never enough, so I usually save any packets of coffee I don't use from previous trips, ask for additional coffee packets when I check in at the front desk, or bring my own coffee and filters to get my fill in. This time I have a 4-cup coffee maker in the room. But there is a slight problem. The packets of coffee in the room are only for a single cup coffee maker. Huh? Someone was clearly not paying attention. And I only have two regular coffee packets, so I will only get 2 cups out of that... But, like I said, I always have extra coffee packets from previous stays with me, and I always have coffee in my bag from home with filters I can use. I will stow away the two packets they gave me for another day and simply use my own coffee this time to get my fill. Wow, this was a wholly interesting post wasn't it? I mean, it was well worth clicking into this little gem. Next post coming? The texture and quality of the toilet paper.

Sounds like a good plan for the coffee . So is the toilet paper one ply or two?

@Marilynda1225 I believe it is two-ply. At least I did not feel like I ABSOLUTELY had to wash my hands...

It was quite interesting to get a look into the mind of a very planned and careful coffee drinker :-) I drink one cup a of tea in the morning (if I can get a decent one) so I've never thought about how much you have to plan if you need four cups.

@porwest I like all kinds of tea. I use coffee when I make glazing for chocolate cakes.

Not one to ever be classified as a coffee snob, but certainly do love my coffee. Never been much of a fan of a tea.

@porwest Oh I totally get it now. Haha. That is strange that they wouldn’t notice that... glad you were prepared anyway.

No. Just something they provide in a hotel room. Usually it's in its own filter pouch and is enough to brew one cup or four cups depending on the kind of coffee maker they have in the room.

@maezee Indeed. I did save the packets for one of the nights when I am equipped with a four cup maker.

Will that be single ply or double ply? You had an interesting choice for coffee.

Why don't you use instant? Much simpler. You wouldn't have had any of these decisions to make.

Don't you start with me, lady. You just keep that swill to yourself. You and your husband. The only two people left in the world who drink that stuff.

I look forward to the toilet paper post and also any posts concerning any tiny shampoos or soaps that you might get free in your room. Do you have a mini bar? Still eating that fast food? How was your day?

@porwest I'm just hoping that this winter isn't going to be a rough one...below zero temps and a lot of snow.

I actually stopped collecting those little tiny soaps and shampoos. It was getting ridiculous. As many nights as I stay in hotels I was to the point there was no way I could ever use up what I took in a lifetime. That may be a SLIGHT exaggeration. But not THAT much of an exaggeration. As for the fast food. Yup. It is what it is. On Tuesday night I had a chicken sandwich and some fries from Hardees. On Wednesday night I had a fish sandwich and some fries and fried cheese curds from Culvers. Not sure what I am having tonight yet.

@LindaOHio Even having a hard time keeping cool. I am in Wisconsin and they have heat advisories here. When I LIVED in Wisconsin I can't remember it ever being so hot...but...well...yeah I can. During the State Fair. But that was usually in August.

I have been in hotels where there is not enough packets of sugars and creamers, and more coffee packs.

It's crap paper. Crap, I tell you. But since it is wiping crap...I suppose it's good enough for crap.

Let Fiacre know when you write the discussions of whether single ply or two ply toilet paper is better. He's a bit of an expert on such matters.

I just simply gotta have it. You must like the fancy stuff, though. I can bet you bring whole bean and grind it in your room with a fancy grinder you got for free from couponing...probably got the fancy coffee free too.

My husband's BP has been very high lately. I had to TELL him to lay off the 5 espressos that he was having at work each day. When my BP got dangerously high, I went to decaf until they figured it out. Hopefully he will take my advice.

Lol, well I thought it was interesting! That's good that they gave you a bigger coffee maker...but strange that they didn't pay attention to the packets they gave! Good that you brought your own!
