Good morning everyone. I am starting out the day on a positive note. My mother wants to go to her house today and spend the night. That means I have to pack up her things and also some of mine. I had to throw some clothes in the washing machine earlier just to same some time at her house. She has all of her clothes that were packed away to be washed. I am dreading what will happen. I know my brother is livid and will cause a scene. I am disappointed that he can't be mature enough to see how all of his actions hurts our mom. I am also wondering what he has torn up. I know he broke into the house but know not of the damage. I can bank on the locks all being charged at my mother's expense. That showed on the bank records yesterday at the bank. I am hoping he did not tear up anything in the house, either physical belongings or start punching holes in the wall. Wish me luck in my adventure today. I need it along with any prayers you have to offer. I do know if he gets physical with any of us, the sheriff's department will be called. Photo: public domain graphic

Please be careful. It sounds like he is out of control. Maybe you need to consult someone about getting help.

I think we will be fine. I have great neighbors on both sides of my mom that would step in. They are both retired and home during the day so we shouldn't have any problem. With the things I can hold over his head and going to jail, I think he will be put in his place. I just hope he didn't move the girlfriend in with her kids.

@HazySue Girlfriend is now there and has stayed at least one night, so I suppose the kids will be there soon.

@kareng That would be a whole lot of nerve if he did. Thank goodness for good neighbors.

That sounds like a heated situation might be happening later on. I hope that you have the POA for your mother, that should give you a little more leverage in such a situation.

Nope, there was trickery involved there with them getting mom to sign a handwritten paper for getting mom's house fixed that actually names the girlfriend as having power of attorney. We need a copy to get it revoked.

Wow, that's harsh. I hope your mother and you are safe from your brother. Wow. He sounds like a bad person. I hope things get resolved without anyone getting hurt.

He is very bad. Got hooked up with this girl and she has ruined him and all the morals he grew up with.

@kareng I know. But fast forward 25 years, I am with that same girl, now a woman. She is clean a long time now. That was a hard time in her life.

How did I get in? I caught the girlfriend's oldest son sleeping in there. Probably one of the reasons they were telling mom her house wasn't ready to move back in. He had gotten kicked out of the house by his girlfriend. I called the sheriff's department to escort him out. The door was left open. I asked the neighbor to come over and take locks off while I went and bought new ones and new deadbolts.

@kareng utterly ridiculous!! i'm gonna pen't one more time - ya need to speak with a lawyer there'n see what yer rights'd be. thus far, they've caused personal property damage, fraud 'n forgery. yer momma 'tis gonna be mighty 'pset if'n they decide to do the same whilst y'all're there.

I may have missed something in previous conversations or posts, but why is your brother acting this way? What is the point of changing the locks on the house? Is he trying to keep your mother out?

@moffittjc I'm beginning to wonder about my sanity. This is really testing it.

@kareng The sane world is a pretty boring place. You need to come over to the world of inanity where I dwell, it's a great place to be! The people here are so funny, and always keep us all laughing!

@kareng Wow, That is quite a mess you’re dealing with. So sorry you’re going through all that. Wish I could offer advice, but i’m not even sure what to say.. Sounds like you have a tough road ahead of you. I hope that somehow, some way, you are able to get everything resolved without losing your sanity.

Oh my! I hope and pray there won't be any damage. After all this time of waiting for your mother to get back into her home, she should be able to do so without finding any damage.

I am just chalking it up to LIFE. That's all I can do. I have God on my side so I am not worried. He will take care of it all.

I'm not sure we will even go. I may have to wait for my hubby who wants to stay out of all this as much as possible or call the sheriff's department again. The latter is the better choice because my hubby will lose it and lose his job.

It is the worst for her. It is confusing enough but with her having dementia, it is very confusing to her.
