Sometimes I Feel Smart

I don`t have any college degrees ( you can probably tell that but my discussions ) but I did self educate in the areas of life that interest me. I am not a lawyer but I love the law, I understand what I read about it when I do.
The lawyers helper, the legal assistant? Right? isn`t that her title, she types up all the legal documents.
Well, I have encountered the biggest air head legal assistant ever! Once she made a mistake and put the wrong legal description on land I sold, found out when the lady went to homestead it. Okay once, sure you can make a mistake. I let it go.
I am not so sure she is as smart as she tries to make herself look.
I dropped off something I need prepared last Monday with it would be ready Friday. I forgot about it. Today it hit me she hasn`t called so I called her.
I need to get this stuff signed and soon. After playing phone tag, I got her. She had not even started.
I had to tell her how to do her job! I left hand written instructions with the receptionist, not good enough, I had to repeat everything I wrote and the paper that the receptionist filled out for her.
Anyways, I got it started, hopefully, I will have to read every thing carefully before I sign, to make sure. Triple check it.
Her degree makes me feel smart, makes me wonder how she even passed.
Ever run into this type of person?

I have a college degree and it's meaningless. There is no substitute for practical experience.

How she keeps her job is more than I can understand! People place too much importance on 'college degrees' and a 'higher education.' Many who have done this and earned these honors, don't have a lick of common sense! And I had a contemporary math teacher, she majored to teach 6th grade English. One student would explain the math problems to her, on the black-board

Book smarts and street smarts are a world apart. You are well versed in what you need to know in your day-to-day life. The legal assistant obviously is not. Yes, I've known several people that had degrees who I wouldn't trust to do something for me.

Intelligence comes in many forms. Books teach us many things. People teach us many things. The reality isn't how much we know,
but how well we apply it!

Oh, yes I have had to deal with people like this and one time with someone who pretended to know more than she did and wound up making a good situation impossible

LOL, yes I know that. But the attorneys do not draw up most of the paper work, their assistant does.
