Air Fryers have taken off in popularity in the last couple of years. I'm not one to run out and buy the latest technology so I haven't made a purchase yet! But I am considering it!! So, I'm asking you guys here at myLot, do you have an air fryer? And if so, what kind? Do you like it? Love it? Could do without it? I'd love to hear your thoughts, opinions, what do you cook in yours, and whatever you want to tell me about your air fryer. I love the fact that this little gadget cooks/fries without using oil, is a healthy option, and easy to use. Photo Credit: Pixabay, public domain

I have a Ninja and I love it. I cook all kinds of meat, muffins, brownies, frittatas, and it is wonderful to warm things up. I also roast veggies.

I'm not sure a whole chicken would fit. The largest one I've seen holds 5 quarts. Maybe a tiny chicken?

I saw one that has a rotisserie built in @kareng that's the one I'd want but I'll wait and see first GoWISE USA GW44800-O Deluxe 12.7-Quarts 15-in-1 Electric w/Rotisserie and Dehydrator

I do have an air fryer and I just love it. We are in the category where we could not live without it. It has made so many meals healthier choices and done much quicker. I have a Gotham Steel brand air fryer and would highly recommend it.
Tonight I decided to try to do as much of our meal in our new air fryer as I could fit. I had some smaller sized quarter chicken pieces that I doctored up...

@Juliaacv That is the brand that I have my eye on! I'm glad you are happy with it. I saw a bad review about the coating peeling off the inside and that make me a bit skeptical. How long have you had yours? I'm off to read your review now.

@kareng We have had this one since January, and it is used about 5 nights a week out of 7 on average. We have not had any peeling. If you have any Gotham products you know that they are good, we have several of their frying pans and have never had any issues with peeling.

@Juliaacv I actually have the big fryer. I use it more for pot roasts though. My only complaint is the design on the lid. If you cook a gravy the residue goes in the crevice there around the edges and it has to be soaked to get it completely clean. I have not had an issue with the coating either. I will probably go with the Gotham brand, but wanted to see what others had.

@LadyDuck The Gotham Steel one I have my eye on is a 4 qt. I see several 5 qt.s, but I shouldn't need larger.

I guess that would depend on what you were cooking in it. I'm going to give it a try. Do you remember what brand you got?

@wolfgirl569 The flavor of stuff? Was there an after taste? (Reminds me of when I buy store shortbread cookies and I get a strong after bite of shortening instead of butter.)

Great question. Can I slice up raw potatoes and cook them in an air fryer or is it only for the frozen processed stuff?

I do not. I have thought about getting one. And that's saying something since I am not typically into any of these gadgets. I like to cook...the old fashioned way...but I think I could actually make some use out of an air fryer. But not for main courses. Sides for sure.

Long time ago I ever considered to buy one. Later I did some research and I found oven works better. This is why until now I have no need for an air fryer yet.

It is all about convenience and as for fried foods, you don't use oil so it is a healthier option.
