A trifle trifle

We seem to have been inundated with visitors and dinner guests lately. We have two people staying at the moment and two more arriving shortly for dinner. Vince is cooking chicken schnitzel with a variety of vegetables and he has made a trifle for dessert.
Some myLotters don’t seem to be familiar with ‘trifle’ so I’ve included a photo of it here. Slices of jam or Swiss roll are laid against the sides of a bowl. Then peach slices are arranged on the cake and jelly poured over and allowed to set. Some, like Vince, like to use two different coloured jellies. Thick custard is put on top and the final decoration can vary. Vince has used whipped cream and more peach slices.
We’ve now eaten about half of it. Tomorrow our two guests will go home and Vince’s brother and his wife will arrive with their caravan. We’re going to have a barbecue tea/dinner and no doubt the trifle will get cleaned up at that point.

I used to make a lot of trifle and very good ones too so I am very familiar with them.
it does not go down well over here though so I make do with something similar.

@lovinangelsinstead21 Some countries do that, don't they? We were given cups of tea in Egypt with about six teaspoons of sugar in them.

Trifle is more of a British thing, but it is made some here. I am not sure I have ever had it though.
