When Life Hands You Lemons

Make Lemonade.
If you saw me right now you would think the world was coming to an end. My smile is upside down. No, I'm not depressed. I'm not angry. I'm working through a problem with Vendetta.
I have a situation that I must change. To keep going forward on the track it's on is not good for the main characters in the story. My problem is that I finally figured out who done it. I need to figure out why and how. I know when, where, and who. The why is driving me nuts and my smile has temporarily vanished.
Maybe I should sit down and write out a summary. Even if it changes, which it would because my book is character-driven, not plot-driven, I would know what direction to go with it. I don't like summaries though because they change as soon as I write them.
I think I'm going to work on a different book for right now until I get this figured out. And people ask me how long it takes me to write a book. Until it's finished. My books are like trains and buses. There's always stops along the way.
Okay, on to New Horizons - Predators and Blue Fire. That one is finished. I need to go over it so I can continue with New Horizons - Declaration of War.
So, the next stop for this train is New Horizons. What has you baffled? Thanks for reading. The image is from the Botanical Gardens. Someone wanted me to post pictures from there. It might warm you up if you're facing winter's temperatures.

Your photo is beautiful, very nice:) I have written short stories and my problem, was ending it! I could go on and on, but never find a conclusion.

@kobesbuddy I can understand why she was upset if you ended in the middle of the excitement.

@just4him My friend SalliAnn got upset! She wanted to find out how my story ended, but I never finished it
The stories were more like Alfred Hitchcock, they would end right in the middle of excitement!

If someone does somethhing, then there is a why. You will just have to wait until you guess it.

'n 'tis really been givin' me the 'what fer'. i've yet to figure why some figure folks'd be 'nterested'n what i pen when i aint myself.

@crazyhorseladycx I wonder the same thing when I write, yet, people tell me they like my stories. And now they're demanding the sequel. That's never happened. So, I need to get it finished. I've told them it will be 2021 before it's published.

I know they take that long. I have some that have been sitting around for even longer than that waiting for me to get back to them. The one I intended to finish this year has been sitting around and getting worked on for maybe that long. It's close and I could finish it yet this year if I put my mind to it.

Yes, it will. I can't wait to find out what right now. However, I promised myself looking at my job board for this year to finish one other book. It's close to being finished and if I put my mind to it, I could pull off another finished novel by the end of this month.

What has me baffled is why when it seems things are going well, they suddenly fall apart..

It will come to you. A break from it will help.

While working on New Horizons maybe the why will pop into your mind for Vendetta. Hope your frown turns upside down and you're smiling with the reason.

Well, I am smiling again. Working on another book always helps. It won't be immediate.

Tonight when you lay down to sleep, keep Vendetta in mind. As you turn the problems around in your brain, just think about the book. Maybe once you fall asleep the answers will come to you Don't force the solution, let the characters work it all out for you.

That's the one thing I can always count on, the book invading my sleep. There have been many times when it worked itself out that way.

No, I totally understand, mine is at a stop too, was getting to be to much research for the way I wanted it laid out. I don`t want to give to much in this one because the other book also needs more of this stuff. I am sure will understand what I just said perfectly.
