It Is Not A Tater Tot Casserole

Well, it is not a tater tot casserole in the traditional sense. I want to make @NJChicaa throw up of course, and that is my aim.
I took some ground beef and browned it up. I tossed in some chopped onions and a bag of frozen corn. I then tossed that mixture into a bowl and added a little bit of bacon ranch dip I had leftover and some sour cream. It was probably a 1/4 cup or so. I also added in some canned mushrooms. But I cooked that with the hamburger, onions, and corn.
I popped open a can of Manwich and added that mixture in. Stirred it up. I then placed the mixture of hamburger, onions, corn, mushrooms bacon ranch dip, and sour cream into a bowl. I poured it into a casserole dish.
I put a layer of tater tots on top and will bake that for about an hour. Just before it is ready to come out I will toss on a layer of shredded cheese.
This should be good. But if anyone needs a puke bag, I am sure I can accommodate.

Sounds good. But lately, @NJChicaa does not like food much.

@marguicha You are not alone on that. But I also worry she is spending too much time trying to win him back somehow and I don't think that is healthy.

It actually sounds quite delicious but what is Manwich? I've never heard of that.

@sprite1950 Clearly it MUST be an American thing. lol
Sloppy Joe is simply a sandwich. It's usually ground beef mixed in with a sloppy joe sauce which is a mixture of ketchup, onion, Worcestershire and a few other seasonings and ingredients. You slap that all between the buns and if you're lucky it all remains in the sandwich. But sloppy joe sauce is used for a lot of other things as well. And since I do not LIKE sloppy joe sandwiches, mine is always used in another dish.

Believe it or not, if there were nothing else, I would not be averse to it.1 person likes this

lol. You...
What is the difference between this and a regular tater tot casserole I wonder? The only thing I really substituted was Manwich for cream of mushroom soup. The bacon ranch dip was basically a doctored up sour cream, and sour cream is a common ingredient in casseroles of any kind. In fact, this could even be considered a version of shepperd's pie with Manwich instead of cream of mushroom and corn instead of green beans.
I am beginning to wonder about you.

I was with you until you added the ranch dip. Otherwise it sounds pretty good

Hey! Jim Bob, I would try this one. Seems most of it fresh and not been in the fridge for months. I am not much on mixing the leftovers into a casserole dish.

A different kind of shepherd's pie. What's your wife gonna eat?

I would have to pass on this! Some of the items in it sound good, but not everything (picky eater here lol).

Take out the ranch and manwich and I'd eat it.
Oh and the corn. That needs to go too.
