Bad Driving

Today they say is the first day everyone is back to work after the holidays. I have to agree based on the traffic this morning. Traffic was a lot heavier than it has been over the last two weeks and I have to say I was not to happy about it.
I think everyone forgot how to drive over the holiday. It is not raining or snowing, and the roads were dry but yet I seen 3 accidents on the way into work. One was a single car crashed into the center median on the interstate. Not sure what the cause of of the accident was but the car was smashed big time.
Second was right by the on ramp, I assume one was trying to get on the interstate and didn't yield to the other car and hit it. The third one was a 7 car accident. I assume the first guy tried to slow down on the interstate and the next 6 cars rear ended each other.
Crazy thing is that averages an accident every ten miles. My guess is, if everyone wasn't in such a hurry to get where they are going they might not get in so many accidents. I dive this way every day for work and see some of the dumbest things. If these people would put their phone down and pay attention it would make a world of difference. If everyone wasn't in such a hurry, seriously just let someone merge into traffic, your only going to be 10 feet behind where you would have been.
Welcome to Monday hope you all are doing alright and be careful out there.

@resukill22 Well we do have a choice, but no work means no money which means no food and I don't like starving so I guess I will go to work.

I was back at work on the 2nd. Some of my colleagues were working most of the Christmas period. It's still fairly quiet on the roads around here but I'm sure that will change tomorrow as that is when the schools are back open!
For the past year, I've been travelling mainly by bus so I tend not to pay so much attention to the roads as when I am driving.

@Bensen32 Where I work, most of the place is closed down for two weeks. Unfortunately, I work in one department that has to stay open! I was lucky, though, as, between bank holidays (which I don't work anyway) and annual leave, I could take just over a week off. I'll most likely have to work some days next Christmas.

I am so glad to be retired and not making a daily commute anymore.

People in a hurry abound the roadways. I used to be a speed demon when I was younger, but I finally got wise and realized it was not worth it, and you don't get to point B much faster than if you just drive like you have a brain. I noticed the traffic was heavier this morning too, and those damn school buses are in the way again too.

Sad people are in such a hurry and distracted that they get themselves involved in accidents. Heard about a terrible accident on the PA turnpike yesterday involving trucks and a bus. There were quite a few killed and many injured. Sad. Not sure what caused the wreck
