Alright time for me to complain and rant a little. This is something that has bothered me for years. Why is it people can not follow this simple rule of the road. I'm pretty sure this is the rule in every state. If your on the interstate (highway) and you are going slow you should be in the right lane. There are signs all the time that say, "slower traffic keep right". If everyone is slowing down and switching to the right to go around you shouldn't you get a clue that you are going to slow and you should be the one moving to the right hand lanes. I have heard someone once say. "well I'm doing the speed limit and I can be in the left lane". This is a stupid argument to me, you are more of a hazard by thinking this way and by going slower then the majority of the cars on the road. Most of the exits are on the right side so just stay over there and quit being a hazard. Why are you over in the left lane? Are you trying to prove a point that everyone should go as slow as you? No one cares about your point. The only point we know is you're an A hole for being in the left lane. This morning I seen one of these idiots that was causing all the traffic to slow up and people trying to get around him almost cause an accident. He was going about 5 mph under the speed limit and should have been in the far right lane. Hope you all have a good day.

It is so annoying - and dangerous - when people persist in doing this.

People just like to make their own rules. It has always been a known fact that the left lane is a PASSING lane, not a through lane. It drives me nuts when people hang out in the left lane, especially when you start to notice there is a line of cars behind them and THEY don't seem to notice they are holding up a lot of people.

Yea, people in Illinois do not seem to understand that at all.

@porwest Yea, I have drove many states and in my experience Illinois is the worse for not moving to the right lane.

@Bensen32 It's not just Illinois. I have been to practically every state in the Union. It's everywhere.

They should not be doing that, but then again they should not be speeding either. However, getting mad about it just leads to road rage. People aren't perfect.

no they are not perfect and either am I but they are just idiots for not moving to the right. They are a hazard on the road. I get annoyed by it and sometimes it gets me very mad but not so much that I go into a rage.

This often happens, it is extremely annoying, you have to speed to the right to pass them and sometimes this is dangerous.

If you travel in the left lane here and aren't using it for passing you can get a ticket. However it seems there are those who feel this doesn't apply to them and continue to ride in the left land. It frustrates me too.

@JohnRoberts I rarely have an issue with them, not that there are not some that are complete idiots.

I agree with you. That is how most accidents occur.

In every country in the world citizens seem to think that driving a motor vehicle is a RIGHT. It isn't - it's a PRIVILEGE and with privileges go RESPONSIBILITIES but far too many people forget that. Not only should the rules of the road be adhered to but courtesy and consideration should be extended to other road users and everyone should drive in a responsible manner - or, in other words, you're correct, that guy IS an a-hole!

Seems pretty simple right? But for some reason people just can't get it. Just goes to show you how many people just have no respect for their fellow humans.
