Okay, so let's try this

United States

Without going into the bloody details, I am trying something else for my health. It's probably one thing I should have tried a long time ago. I just ordered it, and I am hoping that it will end up being exactly what I need. In the mean time, I am frustrated. Such is life, I suppose. Do you try the more natural approach when it comes to your health?

I have never tried any natural stuff when it comes to my health.

I can't afford to go to the doctor. I don't have a lot wrong with me, and almost everything I've tried has helped. I know one thing I need to do is eat healthier... The thing I just bought today is something I am sure I'd be prescribed anyway...

Natural remedies are good. Maybe healthy diet can help you?

@Moon24 I have been trying a lot of things, actually. But I do need to do more for my actual diet. I know I need to stay away from sugars more than I am.

A healthy diet certainly wouldn't hurt. I try to eat healthier, but I could be doing more to do just that.

I do - and the "experiments" are ongoing. I often look online for natural health information - a lot of times I get mixed information about things - but then I just have to become a guinea pig and try things for myself. I try to use whole foods or remedies instead of "products" whenever possible. I hope what you ordered works out well for you!

@ScribbledAdNauseum Conflicting views - yes. Sometimes things just work differently on different people too - genes, lifestyle, whatever the reason - so in the end we just have to try it for ourselves. Natural is much better than going down the prescription road!

I do the same things as you, and I even research and re-research things. There are lots of mixed reviews about the natural approach to medicine anyway, and so it's not surprising there are so many conflicting views on what works and what doesn't. I hope it will work for me, and I also hope it gets here early on Monday!

@much2say Things can also work differently depending on the environment. What I mean is, I've taken something and had it work for me, and then tried it again and had it not work at all. I need to change my diet as well, but that's easier said than it is done.

@RebeccasFarm I'm fine, it's something I have dealt with for years, but lately I just feel as if it's been more disruptive to me. I've been trying to get it under control since last year, this is just me continuing to find something that works. I think I'll have to break down and go on a mediterranean style diet.

Definitely I try holistic approach like herbs and exercise. Luckily my doctors also do that...prescribe exercises. I have acupuncture benefits too, so I like it for it really helps me with my aches and pain. I like what Dr. Oz does too and I am signed up for his emails and watch his videos and learn a lot too and Dr. Oz has lots of holistic advice.

@oahuwriter I know that there are all sorts of exercises for your abs one can do from the bed, also leg exercises. It doesn't surprise me that there would be back exercises one can do that way as well.

I know we have naturopathic doctors, but I've never been to one. I would be up to visiting one, but I don't have the money to do that. I've watched some of Dr. Oz's show before, but haven't really followed any of his advice.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I see. I was watching one where they did back exercises. Just lay on the bed with head slightly over the edge and just stay relaxed for a min or so. I usually stay in the position lying on the short end of the bed, just about 30 seconds and I feel better all day long the next day!

@ScribbledAdNauseum I recall other posts of yours trying cloth and cups etc. What is the natural post you are going to try out?

@shaggin Ah, I still use the cups and prefer them. This is more about regulation. My periods can be so wonky. Sometimes they are light, but most of the time they seem to be heavy. I've tried Estrogen Metabolism Pills once before and they worked okay. I got some more, but in a different brand and they aren't working as well / maybe exacerbating the symptoms. I'm going to try Progesterone Cream now. I bought some from the "now foods" brand on amazon.

@ScribbledAdNauseum You must have some low cost clinics in your area..like a Health and Wellness Center or something...Even this one horse town has one.
• United States
17 Jan 20
@snowy22315 Yes, we have one or two around here. The problem is that I am doubtful they'd be able to help me since it's not something like a cold, or an ear infection or a wound. It's more about feminine issues.

I just can't afford that. I will go if I think it's something very serious, but otherwise I tend to things on my own. I just bought something that would be one of the doctor's first suggestions anyway.

Yes, I put myself on an organic diet some 3 or 4 decades ago. Finding organic food here was a challenge at first but now I get a lot of my organic foods from Costco and Natural Grocers.

I try to buy organic whenever I can. It's not always the cheapest option, so I have to pick and choose some. There are more coupons for organic foods, more than there used to be.

It takes a lot for me to even consider taking a low dose aspirin... We have to be careful what medicines we allow in our bodies.

@LadyDuck I am not allergic, but when I was a little girl I could not take them because of a medicine I was on. Yes, antibiotics should be taken for as short a duration as possible. Doctors are hesitant to extend a prescription for antibiotics because they take away the antibodies we need.

@ScribbledAdNauseum You are so right, I am allergic to aspirin, I had to take those antibiotics for my tooth and I feel that they cleaned the infection but did nothing good to my body.

I guess not everyone got my clue. I didn't want to outright say it because it might disgust some, but it's about my menses. I know I'm estrogen dominant, but I've had a bad week of it with having to stay close to home if you know what I mean.

I feel that I know my body well enough to try a natural approach, only if that doesn't work will I go to the doctor, his suggestion is usually medication, which I try to avoid at all costs. Good luck with your experiment.

Thank You, yes I too try to avoid medications whenever I can. I don't even like taking aspirin if I can help it.
