Reminiscing

I don't know why but tonight I just seem to be in the silliest mood. I started thinking back on a song that only some lyrics was coming to me and just had to hear it from way back but could not remember the name or the title or who sang it. I thought it was Hermin and the Hermits . Yes most will not remember these. Have you ever done that? So doing a search, I ran into (of course) lots of other songs and such I had forgotten and spent much time at Youtube. Anyway,it turned out to be The Troggs that sang "Love is all around" Then some funny songs popped into my head. What's wrong with me I don't know. But thought I would share these. My childhood had some pretty fun songs I tell you ! Like "Does your chewing gum loose it's flavor on the bedpost over night?" by Lonnie Donegan. Really fun stuff. back when would you believe we actually seen how long we could make a wad of gum last. I remember when my cousin and I was 12 yrs old we would make bets as to who could make one last longest . Ever do anything like that ? Going to try and put a link to the song.

I loved many tunes, from back when I was growing up. Music was so much fun, learning the words and singing along:) 'I'm Henry the 8th I Am' That's one that just came to mind:) Freddy and the Dreamers sang some fun songs! We use to see how many pieces of bubble gum we could chew, to blow the biggest bubble! lol

us too. I remember how funny it was when one time we got mom in on our competition and she had blown a really big one big as her head and was pointing at it when it popped and she got so upset when it got all in her hair.

@bunnybon7 Santa in Miracle on 34th Street had a classic moment when he started picking chewing gum out of his beard with a tweezers.

You can really get lost looking at You Tube music videos. I remember hearing this classic on AM Radio. The singer Brian Hyland also had another summer hit with "Sealed With A Kiss" a song about saying goodbye for the summer.

A fun song that I liked growing up was "Brand New Key" by Melanie Safka. It's about a girl that has a new pair of roller skates and needs a key. Another song I liked was "Sugar Sugar" by The Archies, I sang this song to my grandkids not long ago and they loved it.

Herman's Hermits were a great British group from the sixties, and the comedy song I remember they sang was I'm Henry VIII, I am. Peter Noone had a great voice.

that song brings back some memories. My late hubby took me to Vegas in 2001 to see Chuck Barry perform that and other songs and Little Richard was performing also.
