'tis been a bugger 'f a year thus far...

High's 'f 64 wonderful degree (f) temps followed by the bottom fallin' out'ta the thermometer. Very next day 'twas a high 'f 24 degrees - 't 6am. Which cratered 'fter that. Our "light dustin'" 'f snow, possibly 'p to 1 inch turned out to be'n all day event. Nearly 5" fell (hard to determine with 20-30mph sustained winds, gusts higher) 'n these parts turned 'nto a winter wonderland 'f ice 'n snow.
Fer those who bother with my dribblin', I've a most heavy heart. 'd penned 'bout poor resident cat 'n the vets who claimed 'twas jest age. Finally found 'nother vet who ran a battery 'f tests 'n my worst fears confirmed - cancer. Metastatic liver cancer, her poor lil soul 'twas littered with the ugly 'beast'. She 'twas laid to rest a week 'go today. I've not words....
The brother'nlaw 'tis been through hades 'fter his surgery the 21st 'f January. 's coded 3 times, taken back to surgery once. He remains'n guarded condition'n Intensive Care 't the heart hospital'n Albuquerque. The hubs couldn't handle 't, so came home...
I've not'd any runnin' water fer 39 hours now. The hubs "fergot" to winterize the well. 'gain. this's an annual thingy.
I'm 'xhausted mentally, so've not been here. Way 'hind with hopes 'f catchin' 'p with y'alls happenin's soon. Fer now, I've gotta put'n 4 layers 'f clothes 'n tend the critters fer the eve.

I'm sorry you have such a load on your shoulders at the moment. I do hope things turn around for you soon. Having to lug water to the house would be such a pain - especially when it shouldn't be necessary. Sending hugs that things will improve.

Oh my, hope your broth-in-law recovers. Yikes about your well, so sorry. I was hoping the best when I didn't see you. Good to get an update. The weather has been rainy for two days, then thunderstorms and tornadoes around, now cold. Take care and message any time.

I'm sure the snow was a surprise. I'm not surprised. I saw the storm band reaching from New Mexico to Maine. It missed us.

Sorry to hear about your cat - may she be free of pain now and rest in peace - my heart goes out to you!! I hope your brother in law can pull through this and be on the road to recovery. And no running water - oh gosh I have no idea what is involved in winterizing a well - I hope it gets working again soon, if not already! We've been very cold (in our standards) but I know it is much colder where you are - I realize how spoiled we are here. the brother'nlaw 'tis doin' very well, which's been a shock'n a blessin'. he's e'en playin' some golf :) the rest'f 's 're doin' 'lright. 've'd a few medical scares here'n there, some self-inflicted whilst the others un'xplained. heck, i e'en 'd a stroke'n my eye 'f all places. got most'f the vision back, could'a been much worse, so'll not complain.
'n yer bunch? all doin' well?
