What's For Dinner?

United States

Since I forgot it was St. Patricks Day there's no corned beef and cabbage dinner here tonight. I had to scramble and figure out what to cook and I came up with just a simple meal...burgers, baked potatoes and veggies. Certainly not Irish except for the potatoes This brings me to my next question... Are you cutting back and eating smaller meals just in case the availability of food isn't as plentiful as we've become used to or are you eating the same as before and not even thinking about it? Anyway, hope everyone had/is having a good day

Since I live alone, I guess I really hadn't never thought about that question before. I hadn't even thought about some people might be having to cut down on the amount of things they always cook for one meal. But, now that you ask that, I can see that happening to a lot of people now. Another thing, do people from where you live always cook corned beef and cabbage on St. Patricks Day? I like both of them things, it sounds good to me.

A lot of people cook corner beef and cabbage for St Patrick's Day not just those who are Irish. It is delicious

@Marilynda1225 Then baby goats later this year. If things stay bad I will definitely raise at least one for butcher.

Well, tonight we are having meatless pasta. So, I guess you could say we are cutting down a little bit. Either way it's going to be good and will fill the tummy!

I am not worried about the food supply just eating less cuz I am dieting..I had a beef stir fry with just a couple tablespoons of rice.

@Marilynda1225 There are a lot of good WW recipes to make. I tend to want to eat fattening things when I am bored, feel empty or have a craving.

Yeah we are cutting down out portions just in case, and more so that my mom doesn't have to go out in public. We will be having pancakes and hashbrowns! Something that sticks to us for a while haha

Good that your mom doesn't have to go out. Pancakes are always good even when there isn't a crazy virus going on

Actually, yes, I am. Groceries were limited today, but if I am careful I have food for about ten days. And I am being very careful.

We're carrying on as normal. I don't think food shortages will happen here really and we have plenty of fresh food that we can access from local farmers.
