Toilet Paper Wars

There is a big thing about toilet paper right now. My friend told me about going into a store that had toilet paper packages for sale. She said one woman was sitting on the display and stretching her arms over as many as possible. She was saving them for friends. That did not go over well and fights started over "her" toilet paper. Grown adults were assaulting each other over toilet paper.
Here in the little park that I live in, people are going to the shower rooms to use the toilets because they are out of paper. Someone keeps stealing the rolls and depleting the limited supply. The neighbor has hit me up for a roll. I gave her one and told her not to ask again.
How is the situation with toilet paper in your area? Why is it in such short supply that you can't buy it anymore? Have you gotten masks, sanitizer, wipes, or other things that seem to be non-existant here?

All masks need to go to medical personnel.

@JohnRoberts Yes, of course, but they say we should wear them in public.

The toilet paper situation seems to have calmed down in my area. Most shops have a a supply but strangely enough it only ever seems to be the expensive brands. We bought some yesterday and the shop we were in had fairly reasonable stock levels.

@LadyDuck Our supermarkets and box stores run on greed. But lately, after you can't find anything, they put limits on those items but they are always gone when I get there. I managed to buy two rolls of paper toweling and two loaves of bread.

I think it is in short supply cause everyone is hording it. As soon as it gets to stores the supply is bought up the same day. They can only produce and deliver it so fast. People need to stop hording it, you don't need 500 rolls of toilet paper.

@akalinus Well, I wish I had the answer for that. My thought it stores that do get it have to limit what you can buy for starters. I know a lot if not all Costco's put a limit to one package per person and they were handing it out not letting people take it for themselves.

It's so weird how this pandemic has turned people into toilet paper hogging monsters!!
Over here, there are also stores which have run out completely. But we were lucky to find loads when we went out to stock up yesterday morning!

It's awful how some hoard it. We have enough. We don't have masks but shouldn't need them.

I have never witnessed anything like this TP thing. It's not food or water folks! Use catalog pages!

I think it is because they keep extending how long you have to stay at home and practice social distancing. People are afraid that they will never find any again.
I'm glad you have water. Ours was off all morning but on now. It seems to be happening more often lately.
