It's not a loaf of bread but what is it?

While sweeping the front verandah this afternoon, I came across this strange thing. I guess it’s an insect case and something will hatch out of it in due course. It is only about an inch long and it is securely stuck to the cement. The leaves are also tightly attached. It looks like a loaf of bread, doesn’t it? Anyone want to comment on what it might be or what might come out of it? I’ve made a note to myself to check it each day.

It really does look like a loaf of bread. I wonder if a butterfly will come out of it?

It looks like a cocoon that would become a butterfly later. I am not sure though.

Could just be poop with a leaf attached? I have often stood in dog poo cunningly hidden by leaves.
