I lost it!

As many of you know, my apartment is the bane of my existence. The Covid 19 kept me from finding a new place in time, so I am stuck here until next April. Most of my issues are with my apartment, and not my neighbors. Today, it was neighbors who got to me. The neighbor below me is listening to music, with the bass boom booming along. The neighbor beside me is outside her front door, with the music blasting incredibly loud. I stuck my head out the door, and knew I'd have to yell to be heard. I took a deep breath, and yelled, "Please, turn it down!" The neighbor beside me complied, thankfully. I didn't expect the neighbor beneath me would hear me, and he didn't. I'm not a yeller. I'm very quiet. However, sometimes you reach a breaking point. When was the last time you reached a breaking point? Or have you ever even reached one?

I'm pretty easy going, but I think that loud music by unthoughtful neighbors would make me reach the breaking point, too..

I'm just simmering now. My breaking point will be coming soon.

Sorry you had to do that. I have done that exact same before, but it's been years for me. I still live in the same place, but the neighbor's grandson (who made all the racket) is older now, and hardly ever there anymore.

I think years ago. I ended up knocking her door and tell her in person :P

I didn't need to knock. She was standing outside, listening to music, which why it was so loud.

I really don't like people yelling at me for no reason. I try to avoid an argument as much as possible.

Oh it happens all too often that I reach a breaking point. Thankfully no neighbors are close enough to cause me trouble.

I walked out of a job, with my boss saying I do not blame you, over a coworker.

I have reached that breaking point when out and have had people not allow me 2 metres safe distance. Its a terrible feeling when people try to invade your space, and the loud noises are invading your space.

I'm with you on the loud music. I can tolerate it if it's not too loud, although I shouldn't have to. Many years ago, I came home from work sick. I was lying on my couch and all of a sudden my neighbor turned up his music so loud that the pictures on my walls were vibrating and I could hear every word to the songs. I immediately went next door, explained that I was home sick and could he turn his music down. He wasn't too happy but he did turn it down some. I could still hear it so I just gave up and went to my bedroom.

Oh man, that's bad. It reminded me of about six months ago, I had a different neighbor who was playing loud music with his front door wide open. He wasn't just blasting music, but music with motherf'er as every other word. When my walls vibrated, I called the office. She defended their right to play music, and I urged her to come over to the apartment to grasp how bad it was (I didn't want to ask two guys listening to THAT music to turn it down if the office could do it.) I heard her come over and chastise them for blasting it, especially with that kind of language. She didn't grasp it until she heard it for herself.

I'd be screaming if I were you. I live on property but my nearest neighbors do NOT care for their cats or dogs well. I am more than fed up with those animals and their needs and how the dogs at least run onto my property and bark at me.

That is so rude. I can't imagine being that thoughtless, especially since they probably leave dog waste on your property.

I'm glad we don't have noisy neighbors here. I'd have to think abut the breaking point thing.

Oh bless you. I don't think I would have put up with that either. You handled it well that is the important bit. I hope you get a lovely place in April. Are you looking in different towns or staying where you are?

Since I'm on Section 8 it would be too complicated if I changed cities. I'd have to go on a waiting list for three months with no place to live. So I'm just changing apartment complexes. I really hope I find one that has recently been renovated. This time I plan to be thorough. I'm going to walk through the whole place, talk to the people who live there, and definitely ask when they last replaced the roof (my roof has given me fits...8 "new" roofs in 14 yrs.).

@FayeHazel They hire the cheapest people who do a shoddy job. Every time they call the company back to fix it they are out of business.

@AmbiePam Oh I'm sorry it makes it difficult like that. Yikes. Well, changing complexes hopefully will be some good, positive change there. Wow, why the bad luck with roofs I wonder

That was inconsiderate of the other neighbor, I can't remember when I have reached the breaking point, but it was long time ago.

I have new neighbors that moved in next to me last summer. They are actually nice people except on the weekends when they play their music loud and outside. I'm really surprised no one has complained. Even if it's music you like too loud is annoying.

I'm sorry you missed it and are stuck there for another year. Look for God's blessing in what happened. I'm sorry you got to your breaking point. I'm glad the neighbor beside you complied and turned down the music. It has been a very long time since I lost it. I think it was when I had people living with me. Since I've lived alone, everything is good.
