When people don´t read our posts.

So many times I have read amswers, and sometimes long answers, that don´t have to do with my post. Some of them respond to what they think the subject is according to the title and others respond to a picture that is taken from Pixabay.
I take some of my time writing here. I don´t see well and the letters of the old laptop are erased. I have to edit a lot and still have some mistakes.
I don´t like to tell people that coffee beans are not the same as the beans we eat.
What do you do with those lotters? You just don´t answer? You explain? You rant?
I have been here for over 10 years and I still don´t know what to do.

It depends on what they say and who they are. Some of the time I just don't answer.

It is not a writing site. BUT, readers who comment I think at least need to actually READ the post. I get irritated, and I think rightfully so, when someone leaves a comment that has nothing to do with the post, or is about the title, the first paragraph without taking the whole post in context, or a picture I post. I usually just point it out in as friendly a way as I can. Others, depending on the situation, I will lambaste.
Look. None of my posts are War and Peace. If you are going to take the time to comment, at LEAST take the time to leave a comment that actually responds to the WHOLE post.
Just my two cents.

I wholy agree. Most of us talk about the little things that happen in our daily life. But answering them without reading then shows lack of respect.

@marguicha That is a good way of putting it.

Maybe reporting is a good thing depending on why they do it.

@marguicha As the guidelines specify that it is not acceptable:
Discussions, responses or comments that offer little or no value - Answers like "I don't know" or "I don't care" help no one and will be removed.
If I see meaningless comments I report.

It might sound a little stupid of me @marguicha but I just go with the flow with them because the more they answer and comment my posts the more as them as me gain a little pennies! But I do understand what you mean!

@jvicentevalera The pain in my back has stopped me from cooking caraotas negras. I invited my eldest daughter to eat them. I hope the pain will go away tomorrow.

@marguicha maybe they think people are like them. Will just reply any comment others write as long as there is an interaction, probably.

@rebelann I don´t know. I don´t start new conversations on another person´s post. I post myself.

That happens a lot from certain people. I had a photo of my son and his girlfriend up recently and a longtime "friend" told me that hubs and I make a cute couple. I told her who it was. I know by her always short answers and platitude answers that she doesn't read my posts. Others don't either. I just say, "Thanks" and move on.

Its a response. Annoying? Yes, but they at least made the effort of responding.
I try to read a discussion before typing a comment. Sometimes my comment might go off on a tangent (my mind jumps around sometimes.)
As long as the response isn't rude I don't worry about it.

I've told people to not bother responding if their answer wasn't going to have anything to do with my post.

I don't like when people do that. I also don't like when people give very short and generic responses. But can't avoid those. I don't remember what I usually do when I get responses like that or like those you mention. But I think how I'd deal with them would depend on what they actually write.
