Have you ever decorated an entire room due to one piece of furniture? My husband is an avid antique collector, and I happened to be with him when we bought this pink marble topped table years ago. Of course, we kept it in the basement, since it didn’t fit anywhere in our house. Believe me, we tried to make it fit. When we redecorated our family room a couple of years ago, we showed our decorator this table and asked her to incorporate it into the design and color plans. I think she did a fine job!. I opened the drawer a few minutes ago while dusting and saw it was empty! Now to find something to place inside.

I never knew you were in the antique business! Cool! Our furniture is for living. We entertain a lot and have a growing female. Glad you like the furniture.

That's a beautiful table and goes perfectly in that spot. I changed the whole color scheme in my bathroom recently when I bought new towels and rugs. But, I don't think I've ever redecorated to accompany a piece of furniture.

Thanks so much. It was the only room I ever did that in. lol My bathroom is all white, just so I can change the towels and bath rug any color I feel like at the moment. I did that on purpose. Change is good!

I have a couple of antique chairs and after thinking about it, I placed them in the second floor. The delicate chair backs would not stand a second in the living room.

@DianneN My friends are weird sometimes. I have a table in the center of my living room It is all glass except for the border which is a good wood. I never could understand why they placed the glasses on the wood instead of using the glass whish could be cleaned.

@marguicha Yikes! That is stupidity. Wood stains. We always give our guests coasters and many already know where to find them for themselves. I used to have glass, but that was before redecorating since my tastes changed over the years.

@DianneN This is true and the marble is a lot better than wood if some drops of liquid spill.

@LadyDuck I know. Something left a ring on our white Carrera marble counters in our dining room. It cost us hundreds of dollars to have someone come in and repair it.

@DianneN Great spot for it, it is beautiful and looks well made. That's the difference in new and old, the older ones are made to last.

This is a lovely table, very pretty! I'm glad you could fit it into the decor of your home. My mother loved antiques! We have end tables with a drawer. Inside, we keep instruction to our television, channels, and information in case we have technical difficulties or faulty service. Also, a pad of paper and a few pens.

@kobesbuddy My husband has been clearing things out of his closet, his office the basement, and the old family room. I've been slowly clearing out my closets and makeup drawers. It's like a new beginning, but very overwhelming.

Many thanks, Karla. We have all antique furniture except for the piano and sofas in our old family room. Hubs keeps all that and more in the coffee table. Part of the new family room was to incorporate more seating for company and more storage space. I still have empty drawers and cabinets, which is a good thing. lol

@DianneN We have tons of storage space, with things that we never see or use from one year to the next. If there's an empty drawer somewhere, Jay will fill it up!

I am no expert on decor or background matching. My wife has a keen interest in this and at times, we have purchased things for the matching part. And it is good to dust things regularly.

My husband has always taken an interest in the furnishings, but gets bored with fabric samples. He let me handle that. We women want everything to look matched and pretty. lol Yes, cleanliness is extremely inmortant.

It is a gorgeous table - and room! I can't say I've decorated around a piece of furniture. We don't have a lot of room here, so we don't have a lot of furniture (we just have a lot of "stuff" ).

That pink marble topped table shows his good taste to decorate you have Dianne! I don't know if I would ever get a room in my house decorated due to a furniture, it might have to be something really meaningful to do so! By the way beautiful couches and cushions!

Pink marble. I loved it so much that I had to have it. Nothing was pink in my house, but the decorator put pink touches and sage green in the room to made it flow from my other rooms.
