The prince of all foods! What are you having for lunch today?

I have discovered something that I now consider to be the prince of all foods. I was eating healthy and found that my tummy was experiencing a bit of upset. So, a few weeks ago, I went to Taco Bell and ordered a beef burrito and a bean and cheese burrito from their dollar menu. I ordered some sour cream on the side (an extra fifty cents) and asked for six hot sauces. I was cured! I felt full, my tummy stopped hurting, and I was ready to roll! About a week later (my third recent visit), I tasted Taco Bell's sour cream closely and realized it was not up to my high culinary and gustatory standards. So I bought some at the grocery store. I believe this (note the side of tomatoes) will be my chosen cuisine for today's early afternoon hours. What are you having (or did you have) for lunch today?

I love sour cream! And having a container of it would be worth it, better than fifty cents a dollop. I had leftovers . . . edamame and turkey vegetable soup. But I'm still hungry .

There is still some lasagna in the fridge, SmilePie. You'd be welcome to have a slice, if you can get here before Pretty polishes it all off. (We made the lasagna in my largest baking dish. 9 X 11... When I went to get a slice for lunch, there wasn't much left of it. I had a slice yesterday and she ate the rest.)

@DaddyEvil Thanks - I love lasagna ! But I know - that stuff doesn't last. Sometimes I think I could polish off a whole baking dish myself !

Do you actually make meatballs? When I make spaghetti, I usually just brown some hamburger and dump it in the bowl before adding spaghetti sauce.

Pretty and I cooked lasagna yesterday. I had leftovers for lunch today. We keep a tub of sour cream in the fridge. I use it in our cooking all the time.

@TheHorse About a week and a half before I use the entire tub... Not sure how long it would stay good if I didn't use it, though.

How long does it "keep" in the fridge? I'm going to "score" some inexpensive burritos in an hour or two.

Just had breakfast, no plan for lunch yet. I had nasi lemak. Basically it's rice cooked in coconut milk. Though mine was a bit mellow version as I can't taste the coconut milk at all.

@TheHorse for the rice, only star anise and cinnamon, if it's just me. Not the cinnamon powder, but cinnamon stick. Some would add cloves, but I don't like the taste. To ensure the rice is more fragrant, we add pandan leaves and lemongrass.

Tummy hurting? Try A. 1 teaspoonful of fenugreek seeds raw. Gulp it down with water. Expected result, free motions the following day. Works like Harpic. B. 1 teaspoonful of cumin seeds. This tends to reduce pain, and the following morning again Harpic effect internally. C. Curds and rice. This is weird but it works. Homeopathy a couple of things you should keep at home. Pulsatilla 30. Just 6 3 times a day. Carbo Veg 30. Just 6 3 times a day. Very affordable, and with no side effects. You can discontinue as soon as you feel better.

@TheHorse We keep these things at home! In the kitchen. Sigh. We use cumin seeds in seasoning regularly. Anise seeds also help.

I always have a pot of sour cream at home, if it sits in the fridge a bit too long, I make a banana bread and I use it instead of butter. I had pasta for lunch with olive oil garlic and hot peppers.

Does it change the taste of the banana bread, relative to butter? Your lunch sounds good. Had you added a bit of parmesan, I could claim you had my invention ! Heh.
