My weekend so far and big news at the end!

Friday I had a fun day planned with my niece and nephew. The letter for the week was J so we were going to make Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch, do a jelly sandwich craft and make jelly cookies together for a yummy snack. Their father wound up picking them up at 11am though so I only got to do school work with my nephew before he left. It was absolutely gorgeous out. 61° but I was exhausted and had so much cleaning to do I stayed home instead of going out and enjoying it. My husbands house that he rented was infested with mice so although he washed 4 big bags of clothes and bagged them up in the few days they sat at his house mice got in them and collected seeds and pooped so I had to rewash everything. It gave me time to finish watching “The haunting of bly manor” on Netflix. Not sure what I really think of the show but I found out it’s based off the book “The turn of the screw”. I haven’t read the book but there is a movie with that title from 1999 that I started watching on Amazon prime. Today I went geocaching and stopped at Walmart to get food for thanksgiving dinner as plans changed and we won’t be going to my husbands sisters house now. I dropped my daughter and her boyfriend off at a small birthday party for their friend. The other day when I was bleeding it wasn’t much so I thought it was as usual the first day of my cycle. The next day should have been much heavier but it was even less. Today there was nothing. I’ve also been much warmer then usual where as I’m usually absolutely freezing all the time. I decided to take a pregnancy test. I waited about 2 minutes and was bummed it was negative. Then as I was going to throw it away about a minute later I saw a faint line which means I’m pregnant. When I was trying to get the test done I accidentally spilled the cup of pee everywhere and thankfully there were two drops left which was all I needed for the test. I’m trying to think of a neat way to tell my husband. He and my one friend are the only ones I will be telling for a few months. Photo is of the pregnancy test I took which is now hidden in the garbage.

@LadyDuck I would love to take another right now and have been dying to all day but I will wait 48 hours from the last one like someone mentioned here. 48 hours will be at 8:30pm tomorrow.

@shaggin They suggest to wait 48 hours after the bleeding stops to have a more reliable result.

Just remember if you check back and it’s been 5 minutes they do show a faint second line so it’s always good to do a second test a few days later. Hormones double with in 48 hours and test get clearer. I always did double test and then got a blood test done with the OB to heck levels and stuff.

@ShyBear88 I’ve never had a line be so faint. It was maybe 3 minutes total when the line showed up and it said if no like shows after 4 minutes that it’s malfunctioned or something like that. I have never took a test more then once but I will again tomorrow after people here encouraging me to.

@ShyBear88 I think it was so faint because it was later at night after I drank a ton of drinks all day which diluted the urine. I’m counting down the hours until I can take a test again.

@shaggin some times they show false negative but after 5 minute they no longer work the way they should. It never hurts to take a second one levels double every 48 hours which makes the lines darker the more into a pregnancy. Red dye ones are more sensitive then the blue dye. I always get the double packs because I have had a supper faint one with my oldest so I took a second one which the next one was a bit more darker. All of mine always showed in a minute or less. It was supper fast with my second son. Didn’t even have time to put the test down on the counter to wait.

@Daddyevil he brought home donuts for us tonight from Dunkin Donuts. He also made a delicious dinner. Everything tasted so good which was how food tasted to me with my daughter (not with my son) so I still think I’m carrying a girl.

@DaddyEvil I’m so excited either way. We would both love a girl to even out the ratio in the house but as long as the baby is healthy is all that really matters!

@MarshaMusselman yeah having a little one on top of all I already have to do is going to be tough. There will be times my kids will have to help with chores I’m sure. My husband has 9 months to straighten up . I just started putting his clothes away myself it’s not worth me flying into a rage seeing it hasn’t been put away when I can just quick do it myself. I figure I gotta pick my battles. I’m pretty sure I’m pregnant but will be taking another test tonight at 8:30. I think it was so faint because it wasn’t morning urine it was 8:30pm when I’ve already drank a ton of drinks through the day and so it would be very diluted.

@shaggin then it might be faint again tonight. Wouldn't it be better to wait until morning to get a better reading?

Honestly, i saw the photo and skipped right down to the bottom . Then just fb messaged you before starting to comment here since we were talking anyways . Congratulations! So happy for you! But as i messaged, do another test in a day or two just to make sure especially before you tell him. I personally would see a dr first and get that dr proof to show my man. But even then id want to do a surprise reveal lol. Hope the kids had fun at the party. Sorry about Thanksgiving.. bet itll still be a good day there though.

@Courtlynn I need to get switched to his insurance now that we are married. He said they wouldn’t cover me if I got pregnant first so I better fill out the forms and get them turned in pronto. I’m so glad you told me about doing another test in two days. That will also give me time to plan how to surprise him. My husbands a really good cook so I’m sure our dinner with be yummy.

@Courtlynn he may have been wrong on that. He said they don’t cover pre-existing conditions and said pregnancy would be one.

@jaboUK thank you. I have to wait until 8:30pm tomorrow and do a retest then if it’s still positive I plan to tell my husband Tuesday. I’m hoping it wasn’t a false one like people here are saying. I’m worried.

@rakski I’ve taken probably 30 in my life and never had a false one. I used to think if I took enough I’d get one that was incorrect and I could prove they aren’t as effective as people think but I didn’t get to prove that though. I am worried though because the line was so faint. I will take another one tomorrow at 8:30pm which will be 48 hours from my last test.
