I think I'm OK posting about my song on YouTube, as it is not monetized in any way. I would need maybe 9,900 more followers and a 990,000 more views to make money off of my music on YouTube.
Vanny and I endlessly argue about what slides (pictures) to use, what order to present the slides in, how many slides to use per verse, etc. But in the end it's a lot of fun collaborating on YouTube videos.
I hope you like the song. It's an old traditional tune, probably with roots in England, Ireland, or Scotland, that has been done over the decades (centuries?) with different verses and different endings (happy or sad).
I chose to use a version that I used to perform with a (female) friend here that has a a happy ending. Leave a comment if you're so inclined!

@RebeccasFarm The "old days" for me would be the 1970s. We did play spin the bottle at 13-year-old parties with the parents upstairs. But I have an idea what courting was like in the days of "traditional" tunes. A part of me would like to have been there.

I listened to that when it first popped up. A fine job, Mr. Pony.

@FourWalls I'll leave that one up to you. Gordon Lightfoot, a Tony Rice (and Horse) favorite, is also getting older, but he's still among the living, last I heard.

Maybe you should monetise it. You could make an extra five cents a year...

@Fleura His childhood sweetheart returned. The same one, who let him kiss her ruby lips before taking a hammer and breaking his heart. Then he went for a drink. The guy there was singing this, and he realized he needed to get back. His purse was with the heart breaking girl. Back then there were no credit cards. So he rushed back with his broken heart intact..kinda still broken, but not breaking any further. He found the purse. Well, whether he found money in it or not, is anybody's guess.
