Pink elephants and blue kangaroos

There used to be a saying about seeing pink elephants if you’d had too much to drink. Here, at a service station, we have patterned kangaroos. The photo was taken through the car window and through the fence so it’s not the best but if you look carefully, you might be able to see four or five parts of other roos in the background. I’ve never seen a child sitting on one of these so perhaps riding the kangaroos is discouraged. However, we don’t call in there that often. Have a great day, folks. It’s going to be 39C here today. That’s about 102F. I think I might stay inside today.

I imagine you wouldn't call in there that often. That's awfully hot, even for me. I'd stay indoors, too. Btw, I've never seen a pink elephant.

You remind me if those pink colored chicks at the marketplace to entice the kids and ask their parents to buy it.

There was a pink elephant in a local garden once when we lived in the city. It was as big as a baby elephant. Very cute.

That's awesome. I didn't know that about pink elephants. Interesting you mention though. One of the houses sporting lights for the holidays had, among all the Santas and elves and gingerbread houses, a pink elephant. I was trying to figure that one out... Cool about the Kangaroo figures. Is that a chain that does that? Or just that one station? Here we have Sinclair stations. There aren't as many of them now. But sometimes those would have a giant green dinosaur out front. Usually chained to a sign to prevent theft I assume

I haven't seen these anywhere else so I imagine it's just at the one. Lots of things here are chained down nowadays. Very sad that it's necessary.

@JudyEv Ah yes. That is unfortunate. Because why would anyone possibly want with a giant kangaroo, or dinosaur ? People....

I guess it is although I've never seen children on them. They'd need to be lifted up as they're quite tall.

Those are really cute! There are a lot of cities in America that have done similar things, like here in Louisville with horses and Cincinnati with pigs. Some of the artwork is superb, and of course they always bring a smile! And you know, if you and I could send each other half our temperature (it’s 2-3 Celsius here) we’d both be comfortable!

A happy medium would be great, wouldn't it? Cowaramup a bit further south has made a feature of being a dairy area and has cows everywhere.

That sure is hot weather. Love that funny kangaroo. There was a place in Latvia that had an orange bull outside their front door.

There was a competition once where local celebrities painted cows all sorts of colours and patterns. They were later sold and one is in a nearby town.

We were invaded of white painted cows a few years ago. It is really hot where you are, stay inside. If we add our temperature (2º C) and we make an average, a temperature of 20.5 C would be very nice.

@JudyEv 27 C at night is not comfortable to sleep. During summer we are all the time under 20 C during the night, most of the time around 18 C.
