Dentist, hardware, clothes and lunch

We went into Bunbury, Western Australia, today as we had a dental appointment. It was just a check-up, scale and clean so wasn’t stressful. We have a spa bath in our ensuite but something has chewed the electrical cables that lead to it so, while we were in town, we went to the hardware store for two electrical plugs. We also picked up some magnetic catches for something I’ll tell you about another day. We also picked up some very fine chain which we’ll put on the wooden box we gave our friend so the lid won’t fall right back when it’s opened. We are going to a wedding on Saturday and Vince wanted a haircut. While in the shopping centre, he bought two pairs of jeans. When we got to the check-out, one pair were only $10 so he went back and bought two more pair. He went off to the barber and, to fill in time, I went into a dress shop and picked up two blouses on special and two pairs of those lovely polar fleece type socks as they were half-price. We had lunch in the mall – sushi for me and something with prawns for Vince. Then we headed home. Quite an eventful day really. The lass getting married is a great niece. Here is Vince and me at her 18th birthday party. He is the Mad Hatter and I'm the Queen of Hearts. Aren't we cute?

You surely had a great time at those parties. I am glad you could go shopping, it is such a pain with all the stores closed. When the stores are opened I think I need nothing, as soon as we are in lockdown I realize that there are things I need.

@JudyEv Both my husband and I hate to shop for clothes, my husband never wants to try on things so often I have to bring them back to have a different size.

i had a co-worker like that. it's hard for him to buy long/short sleeve casual/work shirts because of his neck. so once he finds one that fits, he buys it in several colors. i guess many winter stuff like those socks go on sale now that it's summer down there.

The shops seem to have regular sales. I could have bought the blouses online and picked them up at the shop but it's better to actually see them I think before buying.

@JudyEv correct. pre-pandemic, i would take 3 items to the fitting room but would end up buying just one or none.

@hereandthere I've never had any trouble returning online purchases but it's just a hassle.

Your day out sounds like life is normal. Things here are still a mess with Covid. I always love that picture when you post it. It certainly makes me smile.

Life is pretty normal for us. I know how lucky we are. We do have to put our names and phone numbers down when we go out - or use a phone app. This is in case they need to contact us.

This is our first wedding for a while too. After a lot of hot days, the weather should be a bit cooler tomorrow.

No. Her 18th was fancy dress but the wedding will be quite traditional, I think.

That is an adorable picture, you did a great job with the costumes. You had a nice day in town together, you're lucky that you're able to get your hair cut, here that is banned due to the lockdown.

@JudyEv It's the same with us. And even my daughters are not much keen on shopping for clothes. SO when we go out and get good things. we buy it in bulk to save us a long time from shopping.

love the picture - we have a spa outside as well. I had to put the electrical up in the air because someone kept chewing the cable. In my case it was squirrels!
