Me Time

The last couple of days I haven't wanted to be on the computer. I wasn't here, and I worked on my book on the first of the last two days.
Yesterday, I spent the afternoon with my grandson. I helped him get his check and get it cashed. Being a holiday, banks were closed, so we went to Wal-Mart to get it cashed, and did a little shopping. It was a good afternoon.
I still don't want to spend much time on the computer.
We started the heatwave today. It's 15 F with 1 F wind chill. We're above zero for the first time in 2.5 weeks. In the next week, we'll get into the 30s F. Maybe I'll break out my shorts. I'll also be going back to the gym for the first time since this deep-freeze started. I'm on the schedule for next week.
I've been watching a lot of TV. Not doing much of anything. I thought about ordering groceries, but I couldn't find the products I buy, so that's out. I think I'll check out Amazon. I don't need anything immediately, so that might be an option.
Okay, that's why you haven't seen me. I cleared the notifications this morning and I'll clear them again before getting off the computer for the day. In case you're wondering, yes, depression is setting in from too much inactivity and not going anywhere due to the deep freeze. Once I get back to normal activities, I will be back to my normal self. Getting out yesterday with my grandson helped. I also have my next hair appointment booked for next month.
Now to find some groceries from somewhere. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. How is your day going?

This is good to hear, you're spending more time with your family members. I've been online too much, it's driving me crazy and my depression is back again. Maybe turning the computer off is a good idea, I will do this also.

It was warm here, too. But not as warm as you. We got up to 10 today.

@just4him And right now, it's 15. In another couple of days, if it keeps going like this, we'll be able to open all the outdoor pools!

@xander6464 By my reckoning, that should be soon.

Well, we're snowed in right now... But just because I keep refusing to go out and clear the snow/ice off the car. It was -11 F when we got up this morning... And we had to force the door open against the snow piled deep on our covered front porch... The temp has risen to 12 F now but I still don't want to go out in it. We don't need anything, no matter how many times Pretty insists she needs cookies. *sigh* I've already given her my cookies. She can wait.
I hope you feel better, Dearheart.

@just4him I'm glad things are better there at your house.
It is snowing again here. The temp has come up to 12 F now and is supposed to reach a high of 13 F today.
Pretty doesn't need cookies. I had a family pack. She took the whole thing.

@DaddyEvil She shouldn't need cookies for a while now.
Warming up here too. We'll see snow again on Sunday, I think.

Things are going well when I don't have to work. When I do work the wound that is still healing feels like it's running on my shoes but half the time I think it's the vein over my ankle bone that is swollen or something.
I have a lot of dry skin and marlina suggested vasoline so I've been using that when I don't have to go anywhere and that's helped a lot with the dryness.
I see my foot Dr in two weeks for a nail clipping and I aim to talk to him about the wound itself and the related issues with the area not healing all the way yet.

@just4him the previous wound I had in the same spot in 2018 lasted a year and the months. This one I've had since October and it now has a scab on it so that's good.
I had a scab on a vein that blew once years back and that took about a year for the scan to fall odd naturally. It would fall off but another would form soon after. I learned to leave things alone on that part of my foot.

Time to break out some good worship and praise music. I am singing in my mind These are the days of Elijah (Judy Jacobs does it best in my opinion and you can find her on Youtube). From where you are down to here the forecast after the weekend is for warmer than normal temps. Got a big pot and small pot of chili going for later (the small pot don't have beans as a member dont like kidney beans) It is smelling up the kitchen where I am at the table here on my laptop quite nicely. It was still in the mid 30s when I last checked the temp, but after the next 3 days where temps will be in low to mid 50s (one day 49F) we will climb here to the upper 60sF to low 70sF. Will be looking forward to taking some walks in the neighborhood. Thanking God also today the sun has finally stop peek a booing and is staying out today which is making things look better. hugs

Taking a break from the computer is needed at times. I am sorry you were beginning to feel depressed because you haven't been able to get out like you are use to. At least the deep freeze is beginning to let up for you. Glad you spent some time with your grandson yesterday. I am sure that helped a lot.

Sometimes it's good to change things up and get out of a routine. And when your feeling blue it's hard to focus on things. When your ready you will return to a more active routine. Winter always gives me the blues. But fortunately I tell myself it won't last forever and Spring will come. These feelings are only a temporary setback.
