Dollar Tree Haul

United States
February 23, 2021 9:26am CST
Good Morning! It's been awhile since I've been to the dollar store, but I've been watching a half a million dollar tree craft videos. Today I went to the Dollar Tree a little further from me because I knew that they would have what I wanted / needed. I was over the moon that I found Alene's Craft Glue at that store. I almost didn't find the Jenga Blocks. @Tina30219 and I were talking about the Freeman's masks at the dollar tree and I so I picked one of those up and even two LA Color nail polishes. It's been a long time since I've put nail polish on my nails. I'm not sure that the glue or the paint I got will work for my purpose, but I'm going to try. I honestly thought that they had larger Jenga blocks there, but they don't. I spent $25 in the dollar tree today but I really could have spent $100. Some of this is for a craft day with friends, some is for me now... and I'm just now realizing I didn't look for the yarn, but I also didn't see any, soooo... Do you like going to the dollar / discount stores?

The dollar tree is actually starting to carry some name brand stuff which is surprising and impressive.

@ScribbledAdNauseum You inspired me to buy some sheet masks but they aren't cheap. I got 2 boxes of 3 Lune + Aster masks at $22 each.

@NJChicaa I just looked those up. I might have to try those one day, especially the detox ones.

Sounds/looks like a good haul! Glad you found some of the stuff you wanted to. Sorry they didn't have the larger blocks. I do like going to the dollar store...especially for getting cleaning supplies and stuff because it is so much cheaper lol

@MommyOfEli2013 Trying to make cleaning as easy as possible for sure. I love that you can get sponges for $1 at the dollar tree and good quality too. They have brillo brand stuff and that's good quality. You can go to a regular store and buy a pack of sponges and pay $3!

I was surprised today when I saw some name brand cleaning supplies there that I hadn't seen before. I bought some Ajax dishwashing liquid (lime & vinegar) and one of those sponge & soap filler sticks for dishes today. I saw a video where a woman used it to clean her tub and I wanted to see how it would do for my shower. I might buy one for the toilet too. Yeah, I'm going to have my friend look at her DT and if not, I'll just buy them online.

@ScribbledAdNauseum That is nice that they carry some name brand stuff, usually smaller sized...but for a dollar that is still good. That sounds like a good idea to use those in the shower, if they work in the tub they should work there too. That sounds like a good plan too, I think!

We have RM2 shop here. Everything is at the price of RM2 there. But when we're paying it's not even RM2. I just fill up the basket. How can I stop at one when there's a lot to choose and it's that cheap!

@prinzcy I *think* it was Daiso that I saw video of, but I can't be certain.

Oh yes, it's so hard to stop when things are so cheap! We have several types of dollar or general dollar (things around $5 or less) here. I've watched videos of stores in Japan and I wish I could go because their cheap stores have such beautiful things!

The nail polish is both sparkly. One is a purpleish and the other is a silver. Have you used that freeman grapefruit mask before?
• United States
23 Feb 21
@Tina30219 The polish is LA Colors. My dollar tree only had two or three of the freeman's masks but they had another brand I'd never heard of too.

Pretty and I do go to those type stores but that's not the kind of stuff we buy there. We mostly go in for cheap books and snacks... Also, if you need any of those button batteries, you'll do better to buy some of the little toys that come with batteries than you will buying the cards of batteries. (The batteries with the toys last much longer than the ones on the cards do.)

Oh really? I hadn't thought of buying those cheap toys just for the little watch type batteries. Other than last week, I haven't been in a dollar tree in over a year. They aren't convenient to me unless I'm going specifically to a store near / right beside it.

@DaddyEvil That's how it was in a small town I used to live in. The "Big Walmart" was beside a little shopping center with a dollar tree, game stop, hair cutting place and Grandma's car that she drove through the subway restaurant.

@CarolDM Oh my! NC has a ton of them too and especially in rural areas. I heard a few days ago that Nashville lost power for awhile, did you lose power?

Yes, I do...I rarely spend that much there though at once. I was thinking of starting a blog that is kind of a Dollar Tree review of various products. They have those that are craft blogs from DT, but not sure there are any that are DT product reviews.

A DT product review blog would be popular I think, especially if you throw in comparisons either in price or in quality to other items. If you were comfortable and / able you could even start a youtube channel about the product comparisons. There are soo many dollar tree youtubers out there now.

I literally only ran in and out of there not too long ago . . . it can get super crowded in there, so I don't stay long (which is a good thing because otherwise, yes, I would spend way too much). You got lots of fun stuff there !

I do like shopping at the Dollar Tree but haven't been there in awhile. I can easily spend money there and always come out with bags of stuff. Looks like you made a score

I used to go on a weekly basis and usually spent around $10 there. I'm going to have to go again soon & maybe to both of the ones close to me to get everything I need. It is so easy to spend so much there.

I used to go to solely walmart, but then I started going to two other grocery stores + the dollar tree. That was pre-pandemic.

You got a plenty of art and craft supplies there. As I have told you earlier too , I loved that store for the reasonable prices on craft items.

@arunima25 I've been using it most recently for craft ideas, but it's been helpful for my keto (low carb) diet too.
