Do You Take Naps Daily?

I hardly ever get enough sleep. When I do sleep, it is only for 3-4 hours at a time, most times, if that. I get so sleepy throughout the day though. I know I mentioned before that I work a lot of hours online and I enjoy doing it but I have to wait to take a nap when I feel tired or sleepy until I am almost sure I can go lay down and actually go to sleep. So many times, I go to bed feeling like I am going to fall right out but I lay there with things still on my mind and I get restless and get right back up and at it, no matter if it is working to do things around the house or getting back on the computer and do some more work online. Most days it is exhausting but I manage to get through it somehow. Do you take naps daily? Do you sleep well or have a hard time sleeping?

Some days during the week I will go back to sleep for a few hours after dropping my son off at school....otherwise I don't really nap.

I would love to be able to sometimes when I am exhausted but I don't want to waste time in the bed either trying to fall asleep.

I wish I could sleep well so my brain would not feel like it needs a nap more than once during the day. I have things to do but I feel tired quickly due to lack of good rest.

@CarolDM Me too. If I could ever get my brain to just relax, that would help a lot.

I never take naps. I sleep 6 to 7 hours per night and it's enough for me.

I would love to get 6-7 solid hours of sleep so I would not feel a need to nap.

@LadyDuck Oh, I see. Even though you do not nap, do you still feel tired or sluggish from not sleeping well?

@stephcjh Well my 6 to 7 hours in bed do not mean 6-7 hours of good sleep, I wake up more than once during the night. I never had a good sleep, but I cannot nap during the day.

@stephcjh I can see why you are sleepy during the day because that is not enough sleep. That is my problem that I have too much on my mind and want to get up and do things so takes me forever to fall asleep. I find if I took a nap it would be hard for me to sleep at night so try to stay up as long as I can and just go to bed.

@Hannihar That is the same with me. I cannot sleep because there is always so much on my mind and I work a lot to be able to help us financially also. I feel like I waste time if I lay in the bed too long.

I have tried all kinds of things but nothing seems to just let my mind shut down and then I get restless legs on top of that so I just get up and get back at it but not as quickly because my brain is very tired.

I am blessed with a baby like sleep. I sleep 6-7 hours at a stretch in night. I do take a power nap of 20_40 minutes in the afternoon.

A power nap would be great but it takes me forever to just fall asleep most times. I hate laying in the bed wasting time. I would rather be up getting things done around the house or working more online if my brain is not going to let me relax but it is sure tiring.

@arunima25 Exactly. what you just explained is what I deal with daily. I go to bed a lot of times totally exhausted and do not fall right to sleep. Many times after about 15 minutes up to an hour, I lay there trying but can't shut my mind down either. Then my legs get restless so I get right back up. I feel sorry for your husband. I bet he stays worn out too.

I do take a nap. I find the need often to refresh myself. There are times when it seems like me mind won't turn off, but I try not to further tire myself out.

@popciclecold Can you come cook for me lol? Just teasing but i hate to cook anymore. I still do it because it has to be done but I just don't enjoy it anymore. Nothing seems to relax my brain. Too much to do and take care of daily are probably some of the reasons why.

@stephcjh I had to find things that I enjoy, and relaxed me. The more I have to do and think about the more I am getting nowhere. I love cooking, so I will enjoy myself doing what I love.

Absolutely I take a nap daily! I even have a bed in my car so I can nap while I’m on the road! I’m over 60, so I’m entitled: nap cards come with the AARP membership.

LOL. Naps would be so great if I could just shut my mind down long enough to get a quick one in. I never get a good night of sleep so I am actually not needing a nap, it is more like needing to finish my night of sleep I didn't get.

I just cannot lay there long. An hour max if I do not fall right to asleep. Most of the time I am right back up in 15 to 30 minutes though because I already know I am not going to be able to sleep and my legs get restless.

I do take quick naps especially on rainy days. I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow every night and sleep straight through until morning. I need 6-8 hours of sleep to feel my best and have energy.

@stephcjh maybe you should see a doctor and see why you don't sleep well every day.

I do nap sometimes. Not for long, but it is refreshing to me and I never really had the chance until recently. Naps are a good thing, in my opinion.

I used to be able to fall asleep with no problems but as years went on, it changed for me and stays that way.
