DIRECTV or DISH Network?

I don't know if either of these TV internet services are in countries other than the US, but if they are, do you subscribe to either? We had DIRECTV for twenty years, but their prices kept going up so we switched to DISH Network. It was less expensive, but I guess it's true you get what you pay for. Well, most of the time. So, today we switched back to DIRECTV. And by being a "new" customer, we got a better monthly fee. If you have one of these, do you have a preference?

They all eventually raise their price. Switching carriers every so often is one way to snag a good deal. Cable companies sneak in so many extra charges on things like rental equipment, broadcast fees, etc; it really is a scam after awhile. I've had the two you mentioned plus Verizon and Xfinity. In time they all become expensive. Glad you got a good deal (for now).

They both overcharge in the end. We have Spectrum now; and our bill is over $200 a month. Highway robbery.

I hate paying for a lot of channels we never watch.

I used to subscribe to Direct TV years ago and then we switched to Dish Network. I only have local channels on Dish Network now though and stream movies and such through Amazon Prime.

That sounds like a good idea.

I had Dish, then went to local cable. Now all I have is internet (no cable/satellite). All I watch is baseball, so why pay $120 a month for 199 channels I DON’T watch when I can pay $120 a year for the one I DO watch!

We have limited options here for cable/internet services. I don't have Directtv but some of my neighbors do. I don't know how different the monthly pricing is compared to RCN which is what I have (our cable company here). I know that my monthly bill is really more than I want to pay and I'm always looking for ways to scale down the bill. But I'm not ready to switch to Directtv.

We have the smallest package and still pay for a lot of channels we never watch. I wish it were ala carte and we just had to pay for what we want.

It seems the prices for these services fluctuate a lot. We don't watch much TV so we just have the free-to-air national stations.
