A better day at the preschool today.

The best news from the preschool today is that my 6-year-old friend Rosie, who is behind in her reading skills, loves to be read to. I did a "circle time" today, and read two books that we had read before, one a Maurice Sendak classic, and the other a Mo Willems book. The child listened with rapt attention, and took pride in predicting what would happen next.
The other teachers also were more developmentally appropriate today, helping set up activities for the kids and allowing the kids the latitude to be creative. There were some horrible gaffes, for example turning the disciplinary restraint of an early 3-year-old into a tickling session, which will only increase the probability of his doing the original undesired behavior again.
But I'll take what I can get. I teach guitar this afternoon for a couple of hours and then get to rest. How is your day gong?

I had a pretty good day at work and am making some homemade soup for dinner. I'm hoping it will ward off the chill from this rainy day.
Speaking of Mo Willems, my kids were big fans of the Pigeon books.

@TheHorse It was raining heavily enough to get my jeans legs wet walking to the car from my store. I had my hoodie up for sure!
The soup is about to go on the table. I've also got some ham sandwiches to go with it.

I worked at the cafe today. I took the blame for something I did not do. It is not my job to stock the cooler. I went to work and there were only 3 water bottles. I took the blame.

@TheHorse Instead of arguing, I simply apologized. I am never right. Do you know what I mean?

@Spontaneo I have been in positions where I had no power. But I've gotten a bit better at standing up for myself.

So what would be the right way to discipline the 3 year old? You really need to write books on every such incident. Future generation parents will thank you. It would be easy to decide on marriage or baby shower gift. I am not joking..well joking but not joking.

Sounds like a good day for you, Was that book Where the Wild Things Are? I loved that as a child, My day was a quiet one and I am getting another payment for my efforts on Vocal Media so it ended on a happy note,

A tickling session? What a mixed message to send to a small child. My day is going OK. Have been up for more than 24 hours. It's 3:15 am; and I decided to get MyLot done for the day. Have a good Friday.

@TheHorse I have a tremendous amount of trouble sleeping. I thought when I retired I'd be able to sleep as long as I want and take naps...not so. The older I get, the more trouble I have sleeping. :-(
