Off to get my second Covid shot. Wish me luck!

I had an appointment at 9:10 this morning for my second Covid shot. But I got called in to Guitar Center to an "Open House," where we give free guitar and piano lessons, and offer a discount on a package of four lessons. I'l going to head in this afternoon. My hunch is that they'll still "shoot me up." I've heard that some people have a reaction to the second Moderna shot, and I have an Easter dinner date tomorrow night and have to work at one of the preschools for eight hours on Monday. So I'm hoping I don't have a reaction. Wish me luck! Have you been "poked" yet? Any reaction?

Hubby and I got the 1st one this morning - but Pfizer. No reactions - not even a sore arm - but it's only been like 3 hours - everyone says just you wait. But I hear the 2nd is a doozy, though not for everyone. I hope you are ok with the 2nd!

Good luck. I hope you don't suffer any side effects. I won't be getting poked, ever. I don't even get a flu shot.

@FourWalls Any symptoms? For all I know I may have gotten it. Never had a test. The only fever I've had in the last year came with the sh*ts.

A woman my wife works with had a reaction to her second shot. She tested positive for Covid last week. That is NOT a joke by the way.

She got Covid AFTER her second shot? What I've read is that you're 80% protected after your first shot and 95% protected after your second shot. What kind of reaction did she have? And how long after she got her second shot did she get Covid? I've heard that each shot takes about two weeks to "kick in." Was she doing all of the normal masking, avoiding dining out, etc.?

@TheHorse She was following all protocols from what I understand. Not sure exactly when she got her 2nd shot, but I do know it wasn't that long ago but more than a couple of weeks. She thought her allergies were acting up and then at lunch she lost her sense of taste. She left immediately, went and got tested, and found she had it.

@porwest I hope she's feeling better. I Iike to think statistically sometimes. We'll learn over the next few months which shots lead to reactions, which work best, etc.

No, I will be one of the last, brother and sister said like 2 weeks for our first one. I heard this the bad shot, not to scare. You know how to do it anyway, gets painful, a shot of tequila does wonders. I am such a bad influence.

Not sure. After the fiasco I went thru with the H1N1 vaccine I might not bother at all and yeah, I keep a mask on when out and about plus I don't get close to people at all ..... well, unless they have a dog, I just gotta pet the dogs.

My friend, Barrister Mbalo of Nigeria, and I have devised a pill. Just put $100,000.0000 in my GoFundYourself account, and I will have my downstairs butler send you two. Wait at least one month before you take the second.

Good luck, hoping you'll be fine. Long story short, people like me having bad reaction from flu shot, Dr. Fauci says not to get covid-19 vaccination. So not getting it. How did the 2nd shot go?

@TheHorse Oh !! That 's great. For years, many people used to think that I am hard working. Yet you figured out quickly that I am lazy. When I wake up in the morning, I set the alarm again for after 20 minutes and once again for 10 minutes. Plus I like to sleep well. You are very smart !!
