The signs look good

The photo has nothing to do with the post but is of an endurance horse crossing a disused railway line. I have written that we are going to be putting our house up for sale. It hasn’t been an easy decision and from time to time we wonder if we’re doing the right thing. However, several times in the past week, there seem to be signs that we have made the right decision and this is reassuring. We advertised three doonas and a single bed electric blanket. We were offering them free as there is no market for second-hand items such as these. One lady was to pick up all of them for herself and a friend. When she arrived, we discovered she also had a collection of LP records and we were able to give her half of a big stack which we had. We had no idea how to dispose of them other than taking them to a thrift shop. It’s nice to know this lady will play them and enjoy them.

I'm glad you are getting reassurance. That rider looks so confident sitting up there.

Many of the endurance riders ride in a halter and without a bit.

@JudyEv We also rode our horses over ditches, getting a kick out of staying on as the horse jumped. Crazy kids.

Selling a Property is a big move. Take your time and be fully prepared - mentally or logistically. We have more clothes to give to a recycling center but now I will go slow due to the big resurgence of the virus, which has kind of just "exploded" !

I'm sorry to hear about the virus being so bad again. It's hard to know what to do for the best.

It was a major decision. But hopefully you are comforted as each step gets taken care of - some of your stuff will have a new life . . . as will you guys!

Are doonas similar to duvets? I offered for free many things when we moved from Monte Carlo, moving things seems to costs more than buying new. What a shame will be to dispose of LP records.

@JudyEv I know duvets but not comforters. It is hard to have to decide what to give away and what to throw, but it's necessary.

We have long and hard about many of the things we are giving up. Yes, doonas are similar to duvets. The Americans don't seem to know 'doona' either. Australians wouldn't know 'comforter' which seems also similar in the US.

@JudyEv We do like to second guess ourselves. Since you have signs leading to that you made the right decision then you should remember that. That is nice that someone is taking them all for her and her friend. It sounds like the right lady bought the other stuff and got some nice records in return. It sounds like things are moving along.

@Hannihar We have to sell our house first so it good be months away but hopefully not too long. If it's too long we'll lose the place we'd like to go to and have to start looking again.

@DocAndersen Well, that's what she's saying. She has the back of her 4WD set up with all her camping gear and a special spot for the record player. I wonder what the other campers will think! lol

@JudyEv and that's the good way to get rid of things. You may arrange a sort of an auction for the things you want to sell out.

I'm sure this happens a lot but these were all local people. Some of the items would sell better in the city and maybe we'll have another declutter when we get to where we're going. We might be getting a bit ahead of ourselves as we may not sell this place as easily as we seem to think.
