I earned the award. I forgot to pay my electric bill last month, with all the goings on new washer, stimulus check, crown, lawn mower etc. In all the hullaballoo, i never paid it. I was shocked when I looked at the bill this month to see it so high...well good reason, I didn't pay the bill last month! The electric company may have tried to call me, but I don't answer alot of local calls here 9 times out of 10 they are scammers. Duh! It is not like me to have late bills. I am pretty good with that sort of thing...Gee, just when I thought I was gonna have some extra cash.. Did you ever forget a bill?

@snowy22315 Mike has recently started paying the bills online. When we get them in the mail he goes online and pays them right then. Only one comes out automatically each month from the account. We are not fans of that but it is what it is.

Yes I've accidently not paid a bill and only realized it when the next bill came and I was shocked. I also never answer the phone unless I know who it is. I would have thought that if the electric company had tried calling you they would have left a message.

@Marilynda1225 Mine comes in handy for mystery shopping sometimes when I need a different number or if I misplace my cell and have to call it. Also since it doesn't ring alot it is good to have at the bedside so should I need to use a phone it is there.

Yes, I am certain they would have..but I mostly use my cell so I don't check my regular phone messages that often, not many have that number.

@snowy22315 my house phone rings a few times a day with what I consider to be spam calls. I keep my house phone because some of my elderly relatives are familiar with the number and it's just easier to talk to them on the house phone rather than my cell. Otherwise I use my cell for everything else.

I think I manage to miss a payment about every 10 years. Of course, I would have missed a whopper bill. This month it wasn't so much..pretty minimal.

I don't answer phone calls from unknown numbers unless I am waiting for delivery.

I try not to, it is usually either a wrong number or some ridiculos scam. Not many have this number. I use my cell more.

I wasn't super busy, but I did have a lot of things going on out of the ordinary. Oh well, it's paid now.

It seems like maybe once every 10 years I forget to pay the power bill.

@snowy22315 Did they give you some notice letter just to remind you?

@snowy22315 I usually register the payment immediately with my Bank and the bills will be paid at the date I decide. I prefer to register the payments as soon as I receive the bill to avoid to forget.

@LadyDuck That is sort of like an auto pay thing...you have to be careful with that. I understand you choose the date, but some companies take it out before they are supposed to.

I don't even know how I forgot. I remember looking at the bill and thinking it wasn't as bad as it could be..however, I guess I went on to something else..

Not sure if they added a late fee or not, if they did, it wasn't much. My power company is super nice.

If I do forget a bill it is more likely to be a credit card bill. I forgot one once not too long ago..I didn't really forget it, I just forgot the day it was due, so I signed up for text reminders.

I was paying my water bill, and mail is so slow I was mailing it, and it wasn't getting there. So the last bill I got it said I didnt pay. My water bill was 76.00 dollars so now I go and pay it and not mail it. When they double it really sucks.
