I like Dr Pepper and drink it often. I know It's not a healthy drink filled with sugar and empty calories. But I can't resist the taste of those “unique blend of 23 flavors” they put in the drink. Which makes me wonder just what's in those ingredients that make Dr Pepper so flavorful?
DR PEPPER'S 23 FLAVORS
What does Dr Pepper taste like to you? Fans of the "Be A Pepper" drink have identified certain flavors they believe are contained in the soda mixture. See if you agree with any of them...
They are "amaretto, almond, blackberry, black licorice, caramel, carrot, clove, cherry, cola, ginger, juniper, lemon, molasses, nutmeg, orange, prune, plum, pepper, root beer, rum, raspberry, tomato and vanilla."
I definitely can identify an amaretto and root beer flavor in Dr Pepper plus a hint of vanilla.
The real formula for now remains undivulged by the company. Guess what's in the ingredients is in the mouth of the taster.
So, which flavors do taste in Dr Pepper?

My husband is a Dr. Pepper addict. He drinks way too many each week. I don't care for the taste. I'll stick to my Diet Coke.

@dgobucks226 It makes a hell of a pot roast too. And I have cooked a ham in it as well. Delicious.

Sure thing! Fun fact: Dr Pepper is the only known soda pop that can be served hot and cold and both are known worldwide. There is a special recipe for preparing it as a hot winter beverage.
Very cool

I like Dr Pepper, but the taste is hard to describe, I can identify cherry, but I think that is all.

I’m not particularly fond of any soda. At one time 7Up would have been my choice, but I find it much too sweet and they make me burp...my beverage of choice? Water, plain, unaltered water...no ice, no lemon, and not too cold.
