Rain, Thunderstorms, Lightning and Hail

Crazy weather today. Has been very warm and humid all day. Now the thunderstorms just hit, with rain, lightning and hail. I could hear the small pieces of ice hit the windows. Not my photo but I did not go out in the lightning to take pics. I just hope the temperatures will drop when this is all over.

Woh - no way - that is crazy! I can't even imagine hail at this time of year (or any hail at all here

). With lightning, yah, I'd stay indoors too

The weather pattern in Lake Charles usually goes with hot weather, thunderstorms and then sunshine.

I hope the birds nests weren't affected by the hail. I keep hoping we'll get rain one day, it's been 12 days since we got that 7 minute rain.

That sounds like a scary storm. I hope that there wasn't too much damage out in Dustin's garden or to any of the birds' nests in your trees.

The rain has almost stopped but I still hear distant thunder. It is moving south. Thankfully no damage. Have not been out yet, but the baby birds in the birdhouse seem ok.

I hate hail storms, we had one last week, but it was not too serious, usually the temperature drops after a hail storm.

We had bad storms too. I was coming home from church and hydroplaned which scared me. I was thankful to finally get into our driveway. Of coarse I had to sit in the van in the driveway for a few minutes until the rain let up so I could get inside without getting too soaked.

The temperature will definitely drop after the rain. Here it's too hot and no sign of rain can be seen here

@CarolDM I always get nervous when I am out in it the lightning. My son cannot be in it at all due to his broken titanium plate in collarbone...it attracts lightning

It's 87F and clear here... We've been enjoying the nice weather while working in our yard. I hope you've still got your rubber raft, in case it keeps raining.

@CarolDM I spent the day mowing in our yard. It's still got an area at the back of the yard that needs to be mowed. This yard is much larger than the one at our other house. I'm glad you didn't float away.

Crazy weather for sure. Best to stay inside when you hear thunder. Did you know that if you can hear the thunder, you can get struck by lightning? True fact. Even if it seems far away...stay inside!

@CarolDM i try, i've been out in a few thunderstorms over the years of walking. i know the rules. I am careful and I call for a ride once the lightning starts.
