I wondered where all the parts were

We ordered two office chairs from Ikea and I was wondering how difficult they’d be to put together. But as it happened, it was very easy. The seat can be raised or lowered, and there is a certain amount of tilt to them. The chairs were in a flatpack, like everything else from Ikea but very cleverly packaged. When we’d looked at the chairs in the showroom, I’d been intrigued by a zip on the back of the chair. There didn’t seem to be any reason for it but when we opened the flatpack, we discovered all the hardware and bits and pieces were contained in the zippered section. Another example of their innovativeness. The top photo shows the zippered compartment. The seat of the chair is underneath. The lower photo shows the parts laid out on the table.

When we bought two sofas years ago, some pieces where inside a zipped pocket under the sofa. As I did not read the instruction it took a while before I could find the sofa feet to screw.

@JudyEv I should, I know that I should, I am not very good in checking the instructions first and then do what I have to do.

You really do have to read the instructions, don't you, even if it seems simple.

@LadyDuck We used to get excited and start forging ahead but we made a few mistakes that way so now we take a bit more time to do things.

my wife loves to go to Ikea and shop. It ends up being very expensive for me!

Their prices are pretty reasonable really but of course if you buy a lot then it's going to cost quite a lot.

@DocAndersen Ours has a buffet too and we've eaten there each time we've been.

@JudyEv Ikea in our part of the world also has a buffet. So when we go it costs me whatever we need to buy, and lunch!

We find them comfortable. When you get up off them, they brake so they can't roll away from under you.

@arunima25 It seemed to take a while before Australians took to them but the store was very busy when we were there.

@JudyEv This is the most important. I hate things I don’t know how to put together or that take me a long time.

So often we think there is something missing but then we'll find a little pack of screws, etc, tucked away in the package.
