Did You Get Sick From the Coronavirus Vaccine?

United States
June 15, 2021 2:49pm CST
I just had my second Coronavirus vaccine today. I had the Moderna shot. My first shot was 1 month ago and I just had some aches from it. My husband, who is much older than me, didn't have any issues at all. I am nervous about how I will feel tomorrow because the second day seems to be when most people get sick. Did you have the Coronavirus vaccine yet? Did you get sick from it?

I did not. But I did not get it, and I have no intention of getting it anytime soon.

@porwest Well, that would explain why you didn't get sick from it! It's a very personal decision for each person to get the vaccine or not. I know people who get into arguments for and against getting the vaccine. I just say "to each their own." And you have to do what is right for you.

@Kouponkaren Just the way it should be. Just way too experimental for me IMO. You are right, to each their own.

I'm curious too. It's the first vaccine that uses the public for standard testing. I plan on waiting a bit before getting vaccinated, after it's a more proven product.

@Kouponkaren But that's just it. It doesn't vaccinate you totally. You can still get and spread Covid after the shots.

@Vikingswest1 All vaccines are that way. They just help your body prepare so that you dont get a severe case of what ever it is. I had chicken pox as a child and had been vaccinated. Same with my boys, They both had their shots and still got chicken pox. Just not a bad case of them.

@Vikingswest1 I feel like I have already been waiting a bit and around here am probably one of the last ones to get the vaccine. I honestly feel relieved to have gotten them both now, which was unexpected. I think I still have to wait 2 weeks before I am considered totally vaccinated though.

I had Moderna, I had a reaction (too fast heart beat) with the first shot, but nothing with the second.

I had the Phizer vaccine, and only the first dose so far. I had a slight reaction after I left the immunization clinic, my arm swelled up, got hard and red from the injection site down to my wrist. Still to this day it is a pinker shade then the other arm is. Strange, but much better then some of the reactions that I have heard people having, and at least it happened on my drive home so that I didn't have to be scrutinized by the medical staff at the clinic.

My daughter got sick from her first Moderna shot and I got sick from my second Moderna shot. The shots affect each person differently.

@Kouponkaren Usually, two days. A few people have a bit of problems for up to ten days but that's very rare.

The second vaccine shot I had, I experienced chills, soreness, and fever. But I was okay the 3rd day.

@meowch Oh no, I was hoping to only have to deal with it one day, the day after the shot. I didn't know it could go into the 3rd day. I have a little bit of aches and chills tonight...same thing I had after the first shot. But that happens to me all the time when my body is trying to fight something. I hope it doesn't get worse tomorrow.

@Kouponkaren You should be okay. It’s just the body’s reaction to the vaccine. It’s only temporary.

@ladyhero Good for you. I am glad you didn't get sick. I am not sure if I will continue wearing a mask 2 weeks after the 2nd shot. I have asthma and wearing the mask for prolonged periods of time really bothers me.

Well, I hope that happens for me. I made sure to not plan anything for tomorrow. But by Thursday I want to be back to normal. I have 3 eBay sales I have to pack and ship that day. Maybe more between now and then...who knows. I can only hope!
