You wanna see The Horse's nasty side? Let me gripe about my latest band.

So we had a band practice last night. We have a gig this weekend. I won't mention our name.
The good: Our horn player has studied some jazz theory and has expressed a willingness to play some Miles Davis tunes, with me on bass; Our lead singer and band leader is a river of song and can sing songs in Spanish and French, as well as English; Our drummer is competent, has played in many styles, including reggae, rock, and folk; our keyboardist is a sweet guy and generally plays pretty well; Our bass player is me, and I'm pretty good at bass.
The bad: Our horn player is a bit of a diva and thinks he's more special than he is; Our lead singer sings slightly out of tune and tries to hit high notes he can't reach. He also throws out Mexican tunes with ridiculous chord progressions and expects his band mates to back him immediately; Our drummer sometimes misses beats, throwing things into chaos; Our keyboard player is quite melodic, but doesn't take his solos far away from the beaten path to make them interesting; Our bass player (me) likes to "show off" and "play more notes" than he is allowed to in this band.
The ugly: The band leader tries to portray himself as a "chill dude," but he's actually a task master, blaming problems on others and not realizing when he screws up. He also does not know music theory and sometimes puts down the wrong key on our song lists, confusing his band mates. This leads to a quiet tension within the band that marijuana and tequila cannot hide.
Will we survive? Will we find a comfort zone and get really good? I'm not sure. There's some talent there, and we really do think we have a unique sound. But there are too many chiefs and not enough warriors.
So there you have it. And you thought The Horse was a "nice guy." I am more evil than @Daddy Evil and more obnoxious than @Vandana7.

Wow, I can see the frustrations there. On the plus side, there's a lot of good potentials to be had with that group of personalities! That is, except for the personalities.

@TheHorse Plus the more that you practice together, the more you might learn to work with each other's idiosyncracies (like the crazy random chord progressions from the trumpet player, or the bassist's "extra notes") and become a more solid band.

Is this the group where the so-called leader lies about how much is in the tip jar?

This is exactly why I fired my band so long ago. I do quite well as a piano/singing soloist. At some point if I decide to jam with my musical friends, it will be just that; jamming.
Have fun, enjoy each other's company, learn techniques from one another and leave the diva at home.
Maybe I'm not so nice either.
Oh well, I'll get by.

You'll do well. Just focus on the music. Every thing will just be gravy.

You're not even a patch on my tush, pony.
I think you're all grown men and can work things out... hopefully, in a civilized manner.

@vandana7 In the US, even kids know to run to the courts... and can hire an attorney because the attorney knows he can make the parents pay through the courts, too.

You and my grumpy husband should get together. Seriously, though, I'm sorry that you guys are not a harmonious group. That takes the fun out of it.
