Good old law enforcement notice today: Don't bundle your kids in heavy suits and blankets today. Uh yeah. I could feel the sun on my back through my t shirt when I was out pulling greens and giving grain to the birds earlier. Hottest this year yet. Next week we are due for triple digit temps. This coming Thursday I will go see the foot doc about my swollen feet and ankles. Rufus will stay home and be babysat by my hubby. Friday I will take hubby to the office and that time Rufus and Sally will go with me. We will only stop for a short walk but NO sitting in the car and waiting on me. I will grocery shop on Thursday while I am out.

So why would any mom bundle a child in summer temps? Hmmm, maybe the temps are lower up there than down here. I'd be worried if I saw a bundled child in our temps here.

Yikes, so your internet is giving you trouble? I would think that in summer heat any good mom would know better than to swaddle their child, I would think a child could suffer heat stroke.

Wow. I can answer you!!! I had to back out and search for My Lot again. Refreshing did not do anything. Hubby says it has to do with some folk's culture- some folks like to swaddle their kids up tight for security.

Triple digits are not good. We are in the 70s today after all of our rain. Stay cool when you can.

@CarolDM I'd love some rain. A car crashed yesterday on the highway and started a small brush fire. I wish the Fourth of July wasn't coming up.

@sallypup Lake Charles which is close to south Texas does get very hot in the summer. It is like an oven.

It seems like there isn't going to be a break from the heat and drought in the west. Stay cool and hydrated and make sure Rufus and Sally pups are cool and hydrated as well!

@LindaOhio I hear that by Sunday we'll hit 110. Hubby thinks that is hog wash. I have four cats and two pups to impose the cooler house on. Saia kitty is determined to go outside this very minute.

Triple digits is like over 100 degrees and that would kill me. I could not go outside of it was as hot as that. You take care Lenore, What is causing the.swollen feet and ankles?

@JimBo452020 Don't know what is wrong with me. Ha ha. Last Doc who tried to figure it out gave me meds that lowered my blood pressure but way too much. This Doc best be careful. Yes on triple digits- might even get to 110. Thank God for Central Air.

Have you injured your feet and ankles? Some people take down swelling by eating cucumbers. I hope you find out what is wrong.

We just got out of triple digits for a few days and into the 70s again. But the heat is due to return on the weekend.

It's 56F outside right now. Pretty and I will need to wear long sleeves when we go for our morning walk. The temp is only supposed to reach 70F today.
