Yes, you read the title correctly. We had tuna salad sandwiches for lunch today and I fixed mine with some dried cranberries in it. My husband does not like dried cranberries in his tuna salad so I just put some into mine when I make the sandwich. That way we are both happy and I don't have to put two containers of left overs in the refrigerator.
I got hooked on this addition when we first moved to the area. Back then a combination book store/antique store/tea room was in town. I love books and antiques so wrangled the man inside one Saturday afternoon. We met the owners and had fun talking to them about different things. It turned out we had a good bit in common and the gentleman's family were decendants of the family that origninally built our home.
We ended up ordering a sandwich before leaving which was tuna salad. It had cranberries in it and was delicious. So from now on I toss in a few cranberries in my tuna salad.
Have you ever tried tuna salad with dried cranberries in it? Do you want to now?

I have never had a tuna salad or a tuna sandwich with cranberries, but it sounds like it would be worth a try.
By the way, when I was at the grocery store last night (getting some OJ, not panic shopping in prep for the tropical storm), I noticed that all the cans and pouches of tuna fish were sold out. I guess other people were panic-buying because of the approaching storm. It sure rained a ton today, and the flooding is pretty bad, but I never did lose power. I guess some of the folks who live out in the country probably lost power, but otherwise this storm was really a non-event.

@moffittjc I'm glad to hear you survived the storm OK. I saw it go over Gainesville and was worried about you.

I would never think that canned tuna would be sold out.

I have put dried cranberries in chicken salad. I may have to try it in tuna. If I ever run out of leftovers, that is.

If I remember to buy some dried cranberries I'd be willing to try that combination. It sounds interesting.

@kareng I already bought some. How many do you add, do you have any idea? I almost made some last night but will wait a few days as we're getting a new fridge on Monday.

I like dried cranberries in my tuna salad. I even add diced apples to it as well if I have any at home.

@lovebuglena All the time down here when we are threatened with a hurricane. You have to have supplies on hand to feed family for up to two weeks without electricity so tuna is a good choice along with good old peanut butter and jelly!

Was just answering a fellow mylotter's discussion on fish that led to tuna sandwich preparations.
Cranberry is good but not readily available in our market. Am sure the said sandwich has a delightful taste.

I'm not a big tuna salad fan. I will eat it; but I don't usually like fish. Our Friday Meals on Wheels meal will be tuna salad coincidentally!

I think the lady incorporated all of her hobbies into the store!! They also had things in the basement which was huge and she had a lot of needlework kits and patterns. It was fun browsing there! I was sad to see that they closed a couple of years later. I believe that was due to health problems for one of them.

Oh, wow! I love the sweet flavors of foods that are supposed to be salty like pineapple with pork or salad cooked with potatoes and apples. I had not come up with something like what you ate today, but without hesitation I would try. Another dressing that I have tried and he likes is that of mayonnaise with green vegetables and raisins, in sandwiches it goes very well, I love these flavors!
