Hello
Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening to all my dear mylotters
I woke up in a rainy and cool weather. I did not go for a morning walk but had my dancing exercise
Yesterday, when I bought some food. I saw this ground beef and pork mixed and I wanted to try it with my meatballs. I never mixed it before but willing to try it out today
I`m not sure what the taste will be for now but later at dinner time, I will see how it is.
It is supposed to be my day off with cooking but my husband is craving for spaghetti meatballs today
How about you my dear mylotters? Do you mix Ground pork and beef in meatballs? How was the taste? Do you like to combine different meat together? What are you having for today?
I hope you can share it with me here
Have a great day and Happy mylotting

Mixing ground beef and pork is a popular combination for meatballs but usually I just use ground beef.
Hope your meatballs were tasty

@m_audrey6788 I've also seen mixtures of beef, pork and lamb for making meatballs or meatloaf.
Glad you like your meatballs. Will you make them this way all the time now?

Yes. Pretty and I buy ground beef and ground pork in bulk and then separate 3/4 of a bag of ground beef and 1/4 of a bag of ground pork into one Ziploc Freezer bag. We usually end up with eight bags full, then we freeze them to use one by one in our cooking later.
Here, this is called Boston Blend.

@m_audrey6788 Yes, we use it in all dishes that normally call for ground beef. We like it.
You're welcome.

I don't make meatballs often but when I do, I prefer to make them in a Greek style with mixed beef and lamb (or just lamb) with mint and oregano. I also prefer to grind my own meat because the minced meat we buy here is not usually ground finely enough for my taste.
Pork and beef mixed tends to make the meatballs more succulent because pork tends to have more fat than beef. Pork is also a sweeter meat than beef, so would tone down the beef flavour somewhat.

I usually don't but if you find a meatball recipe they usually recommend that.

When I make them, often this is how I make them. But it depends if I have ground pork in the house which I usually don't, and I won't buy it just to make meatballs. The ground pork would have to be on sale. Sometimes I also combine pork sausage.
