At the end of each day of the Riding for the Disabled event in Collie ,Western Australia, there was a fancy dress competition. Some of the riders and their helpers had gone to a lot of trouble with, in some cases, both riders and handlers kitting themselves out. In the photo, top left is a cowboy complete with his lariat, top right is a bushranger, complete with a replica gun, and a ‘lady’ in a very sumptuous costume. This is the only photo we have where this young lass is smiling. Try as we might, we couldn’t convince her to smile. I’m not sure what the costume lower left is meant to be but there were the card suits sewn on the saddle blanket and lower right is a mounted policeman complete with shield.

Maybe the little girl was supposed to be Alice in Wonderland. Just a thought. Fantastic shots.

I didn't notice any kind of hat on the pony just the cards on the pony's blanket.

I think maybe you're right as the pony seemed to have a sort of Mad Hatter's hat.

The "Lady" on the right looks like the Queen of Alice in Wonderland, it is a great costume.

That's Alice in Wonderland with her little blue dress and apron and the cards. I think the costume in the upper right is the Queen of Hearts, to go with. That paint horse on the lower right is absolutely STUNNING!

We didn't expect to sell many and we're not really in it for the money but we do need to cover costs. However, we've been pleasantly surprised at sales and perhaps those who ride at minor events rarely get their photos taken other than by family and friends.

That horse did an amazing job over the two days. None of them were overworked but both children and the father rode it for different events.
