All the World Loves a….Winner?

See that poor soul, bent over and crying, in the top picture?
She won the tournament.
That’s me.
Last weekend we only got to play on Saturday because of the rain. I only went for the camaraderie and to have fun. You may remember I said I figured my competitive days were over.
Well, I was only competing with myself. The legendary Bobby Jones said that golf is a game played on a five-inch course: the space between your ears. It’s a lot different when you’re not really “caring” where you end.
If you’re wondering, I have bawled my eyes out every single time I’ve won a state event over the last ten years. I’ve cried for others, too, but it’s just so overwhelming to me that I can’t help myself.
If you look at my stroke (my follow-through) on hole 16 (bottom picture) you’ll wonder how I ever won anything!

There is a famous sports saying from the "Creed" movie franchise when Rocky Balboa trains boxer Donnie Creed and he tells him that his toughest opponent is himself when he looked into the mirror. Congratulations on you win. You earned it.

Congrats to you and perhaps you'll become a miniature golf champ. You reminded me of the saying - all the world loves a lover but in your case let's say a miniature golf champ

Thank you. My great days are over. I had my magical season in 2014. The season in 2016 was pretty special, too.
