A Day In My Life

I thought I would give you just a glimpse of what a day in my life is like 6 am- Al calls for me, I got to him and tell him it is too early to get up but call me at 8 7;52 I get a call. He asks if it is close enough, sure is lol I help him toilet and then go to fix breakfast. While I’m in the kitchen I let the dogs out and then give them their food. I make a cup of coffee for me then make a cinnamon crunch bagel to share. He eats 1/4 which is good for him. I give him his morning pills, 1/2 a glass of cranberry juice and a small container of pink grapefruit sections. He also has a couple of swigs of my coffee. It was a good breakfast. Phone rings health aide would like to come at 9am to bath him Instead of 1:45. Since he is up, that’s great. 9:am while al is getting washed and dressed I jump in the shower. 9:30 am the aide and I make up the new hospital bed for Al. 10 am the aide leaves and I turn on the Tv for Al and I and go to work on my chrome book. 11:15 Kathy calls she will stop by my house on the way over to visit. Do I want anything for Al at DD. Maybe a few munchkins 11:50 Kathy arrived with the mail and an ice tea for me!! 12:00 Pt arrived oops I expected her later. 1:pm pt leaves Al slept through her visit again. Kathy and I go out to lunch. Danny stays with grandpa. We eat outdoors, it was a lovely change of scenery. 2pm back home sitting in the room with Al. He is asleep. 5pm Al wakes up confused. I tell Him it’s time for supper and his pills. Give him water to drink. He wants the steak Danny made for him yesterday. Unfortunately, Danny ate it when grandpa wouldn’t eat it but luckily he had made a steak wrap today and was able to unwrap it. Al ate a few bites of steak and I made Stouffers Mac and cheese and a glass of milk. We moved him from his regular bed to the new hospital bed which has side rails and is lower to the floor. Now it’s 6 pm and Danny is sitting with grandpa while I sit outside watching Jack and his friend from next door on the trampoline. I have one article to finish tonight and 4 due Friday. So that is my day in a nutshell. Pretty busy even though I’m pretty much homebound.
