We Lead the Lives of Lunatics

You have no idea what a lunatic life we lead. In a nutshell, our older son had use of his friend’s house in Newport, Rhode Island. We spent a Friday night and Saturday with him and his wife.
However, we had to return home to spend Saturday night with friends. We had longstanding dinner reservations with them. Ran into a former co-worker there. Great reunion. She and her husband play in a band there.
Slept home. Played golf at our club with friends on Sunday. Spent the day at our younger son’s house with his girlfriend, too.
Pickle ball and lunch with friends on Monday. Lunch with friend. Left for Cape Cod, Massachusetts to spend the week with our other best friends who own a house there.
Tuesday, got a call from our son because our septic tank overflowed. Hubs and I drove back to our house. Had a clog removed and the tank cleaned. Headed all the way back to Cape Cod.
Friday night, our older son called and asked to spend the night at our house on Saturday. He was meeting friends. Couldn’t find our house key, and our younger son was at an EDM concert in New York City. No help from him. So we cut our Cape Cod vacation short, and returned home Saturday afternoon.
Saturday, our older son showed up, but our younger son and his girlfriend decided to return from New York. Had impromptu appetizers on our deck, made up the guest bedroom, gave our older son my house key, and he left to meet his friends. We treated our son and his girlfriend to dinner at a wonderful new restaurant and met a local tv anchorman who sat behind us on the restaurant’s terrace. Back to my house for hot fudge sundaes.
Sunday, after breakfast, older son returned to New Jersey. We returned to Cape Cod.
With all the craziness, I forgot that I had a pickle ball game and luncheon appointment this morning, so we left our friends in the lurch yet again. Can’t return because I have a beauty treatment scheduled for Tuesday and won’t miss that for anything.
So, I’m home now, but still have an open invitation to return to Cape Cod. However, we have plans to go away next week.
I swear I don’t know if I’m coming or going. Everything seems to happen at once, but I’m loving life before the Delta variant hits and shuts life down again.

The delta varriant is already here, and so far hasn't shut life down.
Glad you're happily traveling and having a good time.

@kaylachan Some folks are singing a different tune, I'm sad to be thinking.

@sallypup I know what you mean. All I can say is let them. So far nothing has changed. I have doubts this will happen otherwise the ecconomy will never recover.

Yes, you are having a very eventful, fun summer with family and friends. Our life is beginning to slow down a bit, which seems nice. Today's mission, zip locking chard for the freezer:) Nope, I didn't grow it, Jay's friend Dan did.

I didn't know you could freeze chard! I have been thinking about ways to freeze herbs and veggies from our garden--

Glad to know you are out and doing things .I figured you were in a deep depression due to the rise of the Delta variant, and stuck at home again.

@DianneN Oh yah, I imagine all that driving . . . traffic seems to be pretty much back to where it used to be (that part I never missed).
Oh, that sounds so cool! Surely you'll run into people you know - you always do! I know, we're not ready for any theaters yet either. I'm sure you'll do everything possible to continue being safe. I did hear about FL . . . ugh!!!!

Lol. No flights needed, but oh, the traffic!
Next week we are going to Old Saybrook Inn and Marina. Our younger son is going this Friday with his girlfriend. Too bad we didn’t coordinate. It’s in Connecticut, so less driving. Katherine Hepburn made that place famous. She lived in Old Saybrook. Just won’t go to her theater. I don’t go into many places. Hope you are all staying safe. I’m sure you heard about Florida taking the lead with 21,000 cases yesterday and the hospitals overflowing.

I agree you just made me so dizzy if that was me doing what you're doing I would be spending a week just laying back and staring at the ceiling to get my head to stop turning Well I wish you all the very best and enjoy and of course, stay safe,

@DianneN thanks I will, They said the stats have gone up again in Florida of people who have gotten COVID, I just don't know where these people are coming from, They should all have been so careful, Now all of our big supermarkets and saying it is important for both their employees and customers to wear masks in their store,

The unvaccinated are causing the rise in stats @RasmaSandra I have heard. I’m too fearful of traveling to Florida anytime soon. DeSantis is a walking lunatic!

I guess my family is not the only one that lives a life of adventure like cleaning up the home and feeding the cats.

Soak up all the fun you can, even if it makes your head spin like a carnival ride. I do believe there is likely to be another shut down.
