Bad Sign for Me and the Others

I was having a heart-to-heart talk with one of my loyal students online last night. He is claiming that there is a new policy in China that students who are 12 years old and below will not study online. He is trying to push me to say something. I cannot say anything about this issue because it is the company's rule. I am just giving some hints but not saying it directly. The bad sign is that the bread and butter of the company are the young learners. If they cannot do anything about this, the lesser we are going to be booked daily. So it will be a disaster if they decided to close the company. Why? A lot of virtual teachers will lose their jobs in just a blink of an eye. How's life treating you, guys? Why this new policy? I hope this will not happen.

I cannot explain it, too. All I know is that they had this new policy. I assumed that they are questioning the effectiveness of teaching online and thinking that they are learning something from the virtual teachers.

@LadyDuck You got the right point. It was obvious that their local government does not want to open the minds of their people and speak things out against them.

@Shavkat May be they do not want that the students have contacts with people from other countries.

I agree. I had only five students today. It is not a good sign. The Chinese people are having a Chinese National Holiday for 7 days. It was our first time to experience low bookings within this period.

That's the point that they cannot get it. I assumed that students will be infliuenced for being liberated.

I cannot control this anymore. The best course of action is to continue finding a new job online. I was being offered to work offline but it is not a perfect timing due to this covid.

Is it true? That's really weird. Are they afraid of the young ones being brainwash while studying online?

The updated news from Chinese professional students online that I heard, the Chinese government's new rule is to let the students 12 years old and below do their school homework and not to study the English language.

Yes, that will be a huge disaster for the virtual teachers but the relief will be that they would be able to teach them offline.

Don't say anything bad about Cathay to your student,he maybe will tell his parents, his parents will sue you to your company.Cathay is a very evil country that encouraging the students to rat out those people who dare to speak the truth. They call it's a patriotic behaviour. I'm glad you still have the conscience under the suppression of your Company's rule, but i really wish you can keep your job and have a beautiful life.May God bless you

I am not that kind of teacher online. I just carried my job and that is to teach. I don't care what are the issues that can offend the students' parents. I hope I can find a new one and leave this company for good.

It's easy to say, right? While it is happening at present, the load of students is so low. It means the virtual teachers are not earning more than before.

If this is true it will be China's loss. Of course it may be that they fear younger students will be indoctrinated.

I also told this student of mine that there is nothing wrong with young learners learning the English language at a young age. I assumed that China's government is becoming paranoid about online classes.

Communist China wants to control what the children are learning and since it cannot control the internet they are banning online teaching. Hope you have a back-up plan in place.
