My newspapers have piled up lately And neither have I watched news programs. Today I pulled the October 2nd paper from the stacks I’ve kept and found that the death toll in the U. S.has surpassed 700,000 deaths. And still people are refusing to take the vaccination. It’s our worst pandemic in history.
Also it said people in the south are the ones lagging behind in vaccinations. Most of those who have died did not have a vaccination. I would hope everyone would think about this and go get a vaccine. I for one want to end this terrible chapter in our lives. We could do that if everyone would get a vaccination

Missouri vaccination rate is only at 47% and that only after the state government started having drawings for $10,000 cash every six weeks for those with at least one shot. *sigh* People are stupid.

@RubyHawk A lot of the businesses here are telling their employees to get the shot or pay outrageous amounts for their company insurance. (One company added a $250 a month premium to the cost for unvaccinated employees.)

@DaddyEvil Hopefully that will get more people to get the vaccination. I hear about businesses here firing employees who refuse to take the vaccination. That should help too.

The vaccine rate in the USA is shockingly low
But this might be a good thing for the unvaccinated
Day by day we are learning more and more about the lack of effectiveness of the vaccine
And more of the problems that it causes medically, some startlingly.scary evidence regarding heart conditions and blood clots caused by the vaccine
As well as reducing our immune systems to other things.
When they invent a decent vaccine that works, I will gladly have one.
But hey, in Africa only 2 in 100 people have even had one shot.
Other poor countries are almost as bad with vaccine poverty
So we need two things
An effective vaccine
And the whole world vaccinated
Don't hold your breath for either.

The vaccine in the U.S. has proven highly effective. Most of those who haven’t been vaccinated and get the covid are dying and those who get covid that have been vaccinated are recovering. Practically everyone I know have been vaccinated and their health has not been damaged. We have the means! Now we need everyone to get the vaccine.

@RubyHawk
It's not proven anything yet except the need for boosters so soon which calls into question exactly how effective it ever was in the first place

@JimBo452020 The third shot will extend the protection. I got my first one last January so I’m anxious to get my third one.

I disagree. The vaccination has saved so many lives. Some do get covid after getting the injection but usually it’s a very light case. It has saved many lives that would have been lost without it. If everyone would get the vaccination we’d soon recover from the pandemic. I have friends who feel the same way you do and I hope you and They never get covid.

The Swiss rate of vaccinated people is more or less the same in your country, but the pandemic is under control and for only one very simple reason, masks have always been and still are mandatory.
The vaccine does not fully cover and after 6 months people are at most 50% protected, this is why I always wear my mask.

@RubyHawk Our government confirmed that masks will continue to be mandatory until the end of the coming winter. After they will decide according the number of new cases and the virus evolution. The vaccination will not be mandatory here, it is a matter of personal freedom and personal decisions.

Without the delta variant, this would be over.
sadly, the delta variant found the flaw (many states didn't push the vaccine).

@RubyHawk i just don't understand the reality of not taking that vaccine. i had an argument with someone here on Mylot, where they told me that there were no deaths from Covid. i sent them the link from the CDC, and they denied they were Covid realited.
how do you argue with one whose mind is set?

I also want that we may get rid of the virus. India is a populated country so it will take time to cover all the people of the country. Still, 18.6% of the population is fully vaccinated here in the country.
It's shocking why people are not ready to take the vaccination and risking their and others' life.

Scientists seem to be saying that it may be like the flu (same family too) that may be around a long time, unfortunately.
