I did it again

Unintentionally, I captured a silhouette of the handler on the side of her horse. I’ve done this before but didn’t realise till I was looking at the photos later. We are at Boat Harbour in Western Australia, taking photos at a horse endurance event. Most of the horses were vetted today and the actual ride is tomorrow. They have had a lot of rain down this way and the horses will be going through some very long patches of water. At the last ride here, they were able to ride along the beach but the bad weather has cut up the beach too much for it to be safe. So no beach photos for us this time. However, we hope to get some nice shots of them going through the bigger puddles.

That is a handsome horse. it looks like he was viewing you out of the side of his head. Probably wondering what you were up to.

Yes, he has his eye on either me or his handler.

@cacay1 I think it is an Arabian horse. I do not know if @JudyEv can confirm.

@cacay1 The Afghan dogs are beautiful, one of our neighbors have an Afghan dog, he never barks, very well trained.

These horses probably won't mind trudging through water puddles:) Have fun, Judy!

Most were very good about it but one tipped its rider off and another absolutely refused to go into the water. The rider had to dismount and lead the horse through.

@kobesbuddy Once they decide they're not going to do something, it becomes very difficult to make them.

The perfect angle to take pictures, it's a shame the weather problems make it difficult to take pictures, indeed the weather is very erratic lately, and it's very annoying when we take pictures, is it some kind of horse skill competition?

The horses were being checked by a veterinarian. The next day, some would be ridden 80 kms while others would do 40, 20 or 10 kms.

@Chakimmm Yes, that's true. The riders put a lot of effort into getting the horses fit.

@JudyEv That's quite a distance, by traveling that distance it must really be a healthy horse to pass it

You would have to be in the exact right spot. If the horse is slightly ahead or behind then it wouldn't work.

Nice action photo shot. I looked at the silhouette closely and thought the lady rider is pregnant and I realize that's the horse's body.

We both have Nikon D7500s. It was a shame about the beach but we got plenty of photos of horses going through water so that made up for it.

Seems as if the handler lassoed herself to the horse tugging rope.

She is leading the horse with the rope although the horse seems to be leading her!
