A busy day coming at Guitar Center today.

I called the detective working on my case yesterday. No answer. I also called my dentist. He's off for the week. I kind of forgot that many people take the week off between Christmas and New Years Day. The college is quiet. The preschool is quiet. But Guitar Center marches on. My schedule is almost maxed out, which is a good thing, financially speaking. I have only a half-hour break between 2 PM and 8 PM, so I'd better bring some snacky foods to Guitar Center. I've got it! My human lover from Christmas Eve sent me home wish some delicious butter rolls she made for our dinner. That's what I'll bring. Are you still working? I know some of us are retired. If you're still working, do you have to work this week? As a teacher, I'd say that includes prep work for classes still to be taught.

When I worked as a medical transcriptionist the office was affiliated with the University of Louisville, so we got a nice long Christmas break….especially if Christmas fell “right” (like a Wednesday). The last place I worked gave us the day before Thanksgiving off, so that was a five-day weekend instead of a four-day weekend.

Sounds good to me. I don't think I've ever gotten the day BEFORE Thanksgiving off, but I generally get the Friday after off.

@TheHorse This year we had the whole week off before Thanksgiving, due to fighting Covid. Usually our school district gives the day before Thanksgiving off with the rationale that many people here have a distance to travel.

I'm working but only because I'm a Workaholic. I am trying hard to quit but it is a very hard addiction to beat.

That's a good situation. I wish I could choose exactly when I get to work at my friend's preschool. The unpredictability is a bit taxing.

We were mostly able to take the time off between Christmas and New Year. It made a decent break.

I survive my day. It was actually a good day. There were some no-shows, so I got to jam with my coworkers.

I doubt I will ever retire. I am a specialize para educator and I may prepare some materials to use with our student who has cortical vision impairment.

Quite a few businesses had to close due to new restrictions that were put in place last week. Thankfully, I'm still working, although not as many hours. But it's not a huge difference. I'm just thankful that I'm still working.

Since I work from home on my writing I have this as my quiet week because not many are hiring for writing jobs, I hope it will all begin again after New Year's Day and I will have lots of jobs to choose from,

I am soooo thankful to be retired. We had planned to go to Red Lobster tomorrow night for my birthday, but neither of us feels really well, so we'll meet our son and grandson for lunch at Texas Roadhouse instead. So, no news yet on your money theft case?

I'm retired. I wouldn't go back to work for all the money in the world unless it was my dream job...but physically, unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to handle it.
