Homemade vegetable soup for dinner. The sourdough bread from yesterday went perfect once again. Two days in a row to have soup. This is definitely the soup weather. And leftovers from the slow cooker for another day. This time I added potatoes, carrots, onions, celery and tomatoes. Have a good evening everyone.

That sound so good. When I used to make homemade vegetable soup I sometimes added less potatoes along with a handful of barley, I love that barley in the soup,

I love barley in vegetable soup. I always put some in there. Potatoes, too. It's just so good to eat soup on a cold evening.

Sounds almost like my vegetable stew other than mine doesn’t have tomatoes and potatoes instead I have green peas and corn added to the other vegetables.

@CarolDM I use any vegetable I have in the refrigerator but I always use onions, That’s because onions last a long time and I always have them handy.

When I lived in England I never felt the need to make soup myself because there were so many good ones available in the shops. Now I make soup often as there is little variety that I enjoy here. They tend to be thin, , but I like a good thick soup such as the one photographed. A great filler for a cold day.

Oh, yeah! I’ve tried not eating soup, because soup seems to attract cold weather. Didn’t work, because we’re supposed to get sn*w tomorrow. Guess I’ll give in and and enjoy some beef stew tomorrow.

Soup does sound really good especially now that winter has made its presence known. I love making anything in the slow cooker and having leftovers.

I love homemade vegetable soup. Mike was talking on the way to church tonight that he would like some more. Perhaps over the weekend I will make some more for us. We still have some split pea and ham soup to finish up first. Have a blessed evening.
