Have You Ordered Your Free COVID Tests?

If you live in the US, you can order four at home Rapid Antigen COVID tests free. They will be delivered by the post office.
The government is giving these tests away. The order ships in 7-12 days.
You could actually be over the virus before the test arrives. But the government seems to be very proud of what they are doing.
I wonder how many illegals crossing the border have been tested. Hmmm.
Good luck to all out there who might have the virus. Stay safe.

I was reading an article about these yesterday... Apparently, they give the best result after a person is showing obvious symptoms and may not give the correct answer if the person doesn't show symptoms. The larger the viral load a person has in their system, the better the test is at detecting them... So, your guess is as good as taking the test.
Even if someone takes the test, it's recommended the person get the test run again at a testing facility to confirm if they have Covid or not.
What good is this test if people still have to get the test run again for confirmation? *sigh*

I think the virus is going to be around for a long time yet Carol.
Touch wood, you will not need to use the test kits
But many who receive them in the next 7 days will need to use them,.
judging by the current situation in at least 90 percent of the states.
The test kit initiative has not reached the over the top reaction from government here yet, but they might have missed a trick.
If it was me,
I would be giving them to every household in Scotland for the next wave, the wave.to follow Omicron,
As for illegals
None will have been tested and is probably they are from poor countries where community transmission is high and vaccination levels low.
They could start a whole new wave, like a big Mexican wave of Covid,
And then you will need the test kits.
Good move by government maybe.

I wish Scotland had got test kits over a year.ago.
It's not a little late.Carol, it's a lot late.
I hope you never have to order the.tests.
Three people in our circle are positive and isolating just now.
One is 64, one 72, one 79 and all from seperate dwellings.

7-12 days shipping is too long. Before it arrives, you are correct, one is already over the virus. Done with quarantine.
Or maybe can be use to test after the quarantine to make sure the person is negative.

The government is attempting to reach all COVID victims, to slow down the spread. Great idea!

@kobesbuddy So do you listen to CNN? They don't lie? Omicron is spreading but it is a mild variant.

I still would want it administered by a health practitioner rather than by ourselves. Does these kits have expiration date?

@CarolDM It's a task that only health practitioner should perform. It's not like just getting your body temperature.

Covid isn't going to just die off immediately. Anyone might need one of these tests in the future to help keep loved ones safe. I ordered mine this morning. I had recently thought I was exposed a few weeks ago, and we used the few we had to test here at home, but we were negative and didn't get sick, so now they are used up. Right now it's rather complicated to get tested, the test centers have long lines. I am glad to have this option of keeping some at home.

No one here to my knowledge, but I do hear people saying that sometimes. I was merely making a point I guess I didn't say it correctly.
